I've really don't understand this all, carrying around a few hundred seems reasonable if you plan to buy or eat at random places, but otherwise if you plan to play in one or more casino's can't you just have the money wired, that way you are never carrying that much, don't need to put things in a safe box, you just need to have access to the internet in a casino to decide how much to move.

If someone gets access to you internet account...well be clever and have small ones setup for your fun!

Disclaimer: never been to LV, but computer scientist who knows about internet security

Powder your money belt with baking soda every night. This helps a bit. If you sleep lightly, hang it up, powder it with baking soda and make sure that it is exposed to sunlight for half an hour if you can.
ewwwwww do you hide it under rolls or stick it in your ass crack?

You can get $500 traveler checks from Bank of America (they are free if you have a certain balance). You have to order them- it only took my bank a week. They come in 1500 and 2500 packs.

nvm, my point had been made months ago.

Weird stuff about being killed in your sleep by women though.

Depends totally on the individual. If you are street-smart, then it's pretty much safe and doesn;t matter. If you're no street smart then get it wired and keep it in a lockbox or something at the casino.

You need to stop finding all your women out in front of the Trop at 3AM.

and when i was homeless in atlantic city back 5-10 yrs ago i was lucky enough to have a lock box in borgata poker room for a month. they didnt realize that i was. as long as i paid the $100 deposit i got the box. i had about $1000-2000 on me even though i didnt have a stable address, and slept outdoors a few times. i also had a box in binions old poker room for a while years ago when i had no stable address, but had a room there at the old $19 poker rate, on the old east side rooms. im pretty sure binions no longer has boxes. that was when they used to have the OLD room and a cage in the room about 8-15 yrs ago.

thank God i now have a bank america acct and can lock up most of my money there. money can also be locked up in online poker accounts. what really worries me is how to keep myself from getting killed during my sleep if i invite a woman over. so ive hardly ever done that. you see if someone is in ur room while u sleep, having ur money in the bank or elsewhere doesnt protect u. u will be killed for ur bank cards, and u will be forced to transfer all ur online assets. thats why its so important to know a woman is very much in love with u before u allow her to sleep in ur room.
amazing bump

1. Put roll in front pocket.

2. Wiring is a pain in the ass. Don't do it. Half the time they get it messed up and the other 1/2 it still takes way more time, both to send and then to pick up, than it's worth.

3. To the guy who said just leave your roll in the hotel room while your out, no way I'd ever do that. I'm not even crazy about the hotel room safes. The only time I'll use those is if I'm at a nice place and I'm going swimming.

4. Otherwise if it's an amount more than you're comfortable carrying just pull it out of one of the banks while you're there.

On a plane that is heading for Vegas...I would say that a lot of people have $2K+ in their pockets...the authorities at the airport are going to be more worried about the condom full of herion in your ass than the cash in your pocket.

No matter what you are carrying, don't pull out the entire wad and fan it out in front of everyone while looking for a single to use as a tip. Keep what you plan to spend plus some extra small bills in one place for easy access. Keep the rest in a different pocket and only let it see daylight when you are alone.

I thought that was the whole point of using the services of a 'professional'. "I'm not paying for 'boom-boom', I'm paying so they'll leave after"

Yeah, Travel with a lot of money has become a little different even within the USA since I first posted in this thread ages ago....

Just to avoid needless hassles---or WORSE---I would be wiring money ahead to Vegas if at all possible or I guess at a minimum buying Travelers Checks (at least if they are confiscated you can get an immediate replacement--I think)

Besides the above posters incident, there is the recent incident regarding an operative of Congressman Paul being unreasonably detained at the St. Louis airport because he was carrying only about $4,700 in cash.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...-1U1QD98TCATO0

He prolly didnt help himself by not answering some questions, but what does 4700 have to do with him safely traveling on a plane?

Here is excerpt of recorded Iphone conversation:

Officer: Why do you have this money? That's the question, that's the major question. Bierfeldt: Yes, sir, and I'm asking whether I'm legally required to answer that question. Officer: Answer that question first, why do you have this money. Bierfeldt: Am I legally required to answer that question? Officer: So you refuse to answer that question? Bierfeldt: No, sir, I am not refusing. Officer: Well, you're not answering. Bierfeldt: I'm simply asking my rights under the law. [...] The officers can be heard saying they will involve the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and appear to threaten arrest, saying they are going to transport Bierfeldt to the local police station, in handcuffs if necessary. [...] Near the end of the recording an additional officer enters the situation and realizes the origins of the money. Officer: So these are campaign contributions for Ron Paul? Bierfeldt: Yes, sir. Officer: You're free to go.
