Venetian or Palazzo Venetian or Palazzo

I am in LV during the 1st couple of weeks of July.
I have stayed in the V many times and found it very nice and the elevators relatively close to the poker room.

Any reason to consider the Palazzo?
Is it a long walk between the Palazzo and the V poker room?

It is a long walk, however I think the rooms are nicer and don't mind the walk.
All told it takes only about 10 mins to get there from the rooms at Palazzo.

Go with the one that gives you a better rate. The mile walk isn't that big a deal, is it?

Poker rate is the same for both.

Not a huge difference but i give the edge to Palazzo. the rooms are newer and cleaner (at least a little less wear and tear). the walk is only a few minutes and is actually kind of nice.

Palazzo. Rooms are nicer and there's less of a total cluster**** around the elevators (which is one thing I dislike about V). Yes, the walk to the poker room is a little longer. Not a big deal though.

Can't go wrong with either of them..If you stay at the Palazzo..stop by Espressamante' and grab a shake and a crepe!

Try the P for a change - its really nice.
And if you want a nice high room with a view - slip the reception a $20 while checking in.

The Palazzo rooms have a ventilation system that brings in outside air, which can be very dry and full of allergens, and blows on you if you sleep in the bed. You cannot switch it off. If you wake up with your nasal passages swollen or throat dry as the desert, you'll know why.

If you have a car on the trip and like to self park, the Palazzo is a good choice. The Self Park garage entrance is on Sands/Spring Mountain so you don't have to drive on the strip at all, and you can park -extremely- close to the guest elevators.
Of course, you can still self park on the Palazzo side if you're staying at the Venetian.

Def. P. walk is not that long.

For those of you who've stayed there and tried this: Can you use the in-room TVs as monitors for computers and game consoles? It used to be rare that this was the case without some unauthorized tinkering, but now it's getting more and more common--some hotels even have a bank of jacks on the entertainment center below the TV to connect HDMI, PCI etc plugs to. The Aria website mentions specifically that its rooms have this feature, but I'd rather stay at the V/P if possible. Anyone?

So you came to Vegas to play Xbox?

I hated the walk from the P to the poker room. The V rooms and the poker room are so close its not even funny. I stayed @the P once for poker and wouldn't do it again

Yeah, but a lot of people from Texas are fat pieces of crap who use rascals instead of walking and uniformly hate any sort of physical activity or movement.

Did you like walking from the P to the poker room? How many times have you stayed there for poker? Just curious

Stayed at both and only both! I'm treated very nicely. The V no longer has a concierge floor so I stay up at the concierge level of the P. This floor is now called the Prestige floor. The best value around. Comp drinks in the evening, breakfast, afternoon snacks and food around dinner time before you head out later on. Oh and grab some pop for your room.

Call a host or Grazie services and book it. DO NOT DO IT ONLINE because it will be difficult to get the the poker room to change it for you to the poker rate.

Mr. Texas is wrong about the walk. After your free breakfast upstairs it's a rather pleasant walk to the V's poker tables to get your 6 hrs in. Good Luck!

I have just once but how many times do I have to stay at P to have an opinion on the walk? Is 3 days of making that epic journey all the way across that horrible expanse of casino hallways enough to form an opinion?

I hope so, because I have formed an opinion and if that walk is too far for you, you might want to look into getting a tiny bit of exercise at some point in your life, cuz it ain't that far.

Another vote for Palazzo. Just got back from staying there. Few reasons as mentioned:

- Easy self-parking if you are renting a car, far better than the V.
- Less busy than the floor of the V.
- Same Grand Lux Cafe, much shorter line in general.
- Walk to the poker room is not bad at all IMO.

cero, I did not get a chance to examine the TV, but didn't notice any sort of plug in panel.

I heard the service at the venetian was a lot better, and the games softer.

How can it be "far better"? Unless you can park in your room. Venetian parking is almost as easy as Wynn parking. Drive into garage, walk to elevator (a much shorter walk than from Palazzo to the V poker room), ride elevator to short walkway, and you're inside.

I've been to Vegas over a hundred times, have stayed at Venetian and Palazzo at least a dozen (with 3 of those at Palazzo), and I have yet to stay anywhere in Vegas "for poker."

I neither like nor dislike the walk. It's just a walk.
