Am I correct in assuming the best casino access will be in Niagara Falls, NY? Is the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino the best option?

On the NY side it is your only option for poker period so yea it is

but depending on the limit you play it might not be the place you WANT to play, if you play anything above 2/5 crossing the borber into CA and playing at Fallsview is your best bet

Buffalo (Seneca) casino: Free drinks, Omaha/Stud sometimes spread, no border crossing

Niagara Falls (Fallsview) casino: long waits (with call-ahead), higher limit games (lowest on the weekend is 2/5NL), nicer room, age required only 19

Both have advantages, but if you're planning on having more than 4 drinks (and playing against people who are also drinking), I'll chose Seneca everytime.

There's also Casino Niagara - it's around 5 (?) years older than Fallsview - it has 1/2NL on the weekend, but again call ahead as the waits can get long.... Plus the room is dark, depressing and filled with the stench of shame.

imo, niagara poker sucks donkey balls. play fallsview i guess if your looking for a decent game. Casino niag is a pit and your table will be 8 regs on a first name basis and you. GL playing against them, they get in every pot. Play uber tag and you might do well, but its just not profitable to play that tight at the lower limits. Fallsview is best imo, but make a trip to TS or two if you dont minf the drive

The regulars at Casino Niagara are bad players (in general), passive calling station types. There were a couple of young guys that either were "pro" or semi-pro players. I did call two rag pairs one time and got stacked off by set because I thought one regular was a dumb redneck wouldn't know how to set mine to save his life. He was loudmouth yahoo, but could play to a point. So don't let a guys appearance fool you. I swear if he looked smart I would have folded my two donk pair....

Do any of these 3 (Seneca, Fallsview, Casino Niagara) spread any limit games? I'm mostly a mid-limit game player and will be in the area in September.

Seneca spreads something in the realm of 2/4 or 3/6. Very very very rarely (if ever) gets anything going any higher.

Not sure about Fallsview or Casino Niagara.

Keep in mind when you exchange US Dollars to Canadian dollars (which you have too), you lose 4% in the exchange. I believe this is both ways. Hard to make up 8% IMO, but the fishtanks are much fuller in Canada.

Niagara will have 2/4 limit, Fallsview will have 5/10 sometimes (usually just 1 table, and normally a long wait list - that doesn't move fast). Fallsview might also spread higher limit games, but I'd definitely call and find out.

Oh and for ANYONE going to both fallsview and niagara - CALL AHEAD. Nothing sucks more than having to wait 2 hours for a seat on a weekend.

been going to CN a lot lately, have never seen a limit game. Usually all 1/2 and on weekends some 2/5. They also run some horrible sit n gos sats for WPT.

As for calling, this is a must - went last night (still today, just got home) called at 1030pm, arrived at midnight, seated at 130am

Was at Seneca Friday 4-midnight and they were running up to 5-10 LHE.

On a side note the BBJ went off for $83k of course at the Omaha table (table 7 and I was 11).

If you are up to 1 hour drive into Canada, check out the Brantford Charity Casino, all they spread are limit games, from 2/5, 5/10, 10/20, 20/40. They will run higher limit games as well (usually on Tuesday).

Hey guys,

I can't find the information on the internet, is there a Poker Room at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino ?

I'll be in buffalo soon for a week-end and that seems to be the closest casino.

Option #2 would be Seneca Niagara Falls poker room, do they have 1-2 NL over there ?

Sure, it’s only 200 miles away. Probably can catch a cab outside your hotel.

No poker at Buffalo Creek.

Seneca has 1/2.. most games are $100 max buy... they do run some $200 max I believe.

Beware of Seneca Casino! I won at the poker room there, but got screwed after. I tried to talk to the President of the casino but he wasn't available, so I have contacted the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) to file a complaint. If anybody else has filed a complaint against Seneca Casino or with NIGC, please PM me.

Hello,

I'm re-floating this post because I'm travelling to Buffalo next October. Maybe I'll have some time to play a little bit of poker. I would be interested in going to the closest place and it seems to be Niagara Falls Casino. Is this ok or is there any other cardroom closer to downtown Buffalo?

Thanks
Best regards

I haven't lived in the area in a few years, but I believe there is now a casino downtown. Not sure if they spread poker though. If not then Seneca Niagara will be your closest/best option on the US side of the falls.

No poker at the downtown Buffalo casino. Seneca Niagara is your best bet for poker. Short wait times, free drinks, decent variety of stakes on Fridays. (Features 5/10 O8 with a kill, 3/6 limit, plenty of 100 max, a 200 max or two, and 2/5 no limit) Very player friendly. If the lists get long, they'll open another table ASAP. Canada likes to see if they can break a record on the longest list they can make... Seneca Niagara allows you to listen to portable music players, which they don't in Canada. You can eat in the room at Seneca, but not in Canada, etc. You can phone ahead at (716)278-6300 up to an hour before arriving to secure your spot on a list. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
