I'm at "the big game" and they're playing 5 handed. Seat 8 gets up to use the restroom and they play 4 handed. He comes back and seat 2 gets up to take a phone call. Again, they go 4 handed. Seat 5 leaves to smoke a cigarette and the game stops until he returns. I wonder how long this can go on before seat 5 realizes he's the fish.

I thought this is how that story was finishing.

Not the worst thought, but as long as seat 5 still had chips on the table there was no way this game was breaking.

GX2 Gazelles. No really, that's the name of them. I looked it up. Sounds like a sportscar to me.

Manager: "We really want to make the poker oom look profitable to the casino, we spent our budget on those fancy GX2 Gazelles you wanted ..... if we ask for money to fix the sinkhole they just may decide they don;t even need a poker room...."

Yeah I know that's a lead pipe cinch.

First hand of the down, Seat 6 is helpfully pointing out to all that JTo is all you need to hold the nut straight.

Second hand, he points out the flush possibilities, while a few other players chime in with their opinions of who might be holding what.

As I pitch the cards for the third hand, I announce, "We're gonna play this one a little differently, fellas--this time, we're NOT going to talk about the possible straights and flushes." Everyone LOL's.

On the turn, the board is showing AAKK, and--you guessed it--Seat 6 is pointing out the possible boats and quads.

Well, I *did* specify straights and flushes...

Young Guy going on to Old Guy for 20 minutes about his recent trip to a Las Vegas strip club.

YG: We went through THOUSANDS!

OG: You go in the back room or something?

YG: Nope.

OG: (confused)

YG: You just get caught up in it! I was stuffing dollar bills in their g-strings all night long. One girl, I gave her a hundred of 'em! Just "made it rain", 100 singles.

OG: They're wearing g-strings? So they're not even naked?

YG: Right. They have totally nude strip clubs, but we didn't go to any of those.

OG: If they're totally nude, where do they keep the dollar bills? No g-string to tuck 'em in?

(entire table is stumped)

YTF: They wear a garter, OG. At least, they did 100 years ago, when I was still a big enough "mark" go to such places.

(I push a pot to YG. After hearing for twenty minutes about what a generous tipper he is, I was dissappointed to get nothing but the old stiff-arm.)

YTF: I guess I should've worn a garter?

$2-4 LHE. Entire table limps in, only the SB folds. Table gasps, teases him about not exploiting the pot odds "for only a dollar!?"

I spread the flop. SB *beams*, theatrically reaches over his shoulder and pats himself on the back. First time I ever saw someone strut sitting down. I asked him if he wanted to take a victory lap. He promptly stood and did a home run trot around the table. I lol'd.

"Lance, for three-six hold'em, Lance."

(minute passes)

"Lance, your seat is available for 3-6 hold'em, Lance."

(another minute)

"Final call for Lance. 3-6 hold'em, Lance."

(In my head, I'm screaming...)

Hey guys... I flew to Vegas on Saturday for an interview at The Wynn.

Interview was Monday, I had my table audition a few hours later.

Got the job!!!! I'm so friggin' excited. That new Encore poker room is absolutely gorgeous.

You have a place to stay?

Yessir. My buddy let me crash with him while I was out here for these past 3 days.

We're getting a new place together. I don't start til June 1st, so we've got a little time to look.

I've been working so much overtime this year that today I had employees coming up to me saying, "I heard you got out on time yesterday. I was so happy for you!"

He's got other jobs lined up. I wouldn't worry. I hooked him up and introduced him to the right people!
