Just moved near Pensacola. Never been to Biloxi. What are the best card rooms and what should I avoid?

Beau Rivage. Avoid all else IMO. Beau Rivage is just incredible. Comfortable, spacious room, good buffet, great dealers + floor.

Beau is nice, Imperial Palace is ok too. They all used to have a time charge instead of rake.

beau is the only one to still do time rake. have fun with paying $6/half hour to play. Its tons of fun to get dead cards for 2 hours and you still pay $24 in rake, even tho you never won a pot.

thanks for the heads up.. I moved down here last week. Played at beau for like 2 hrs and lost about $24 in just rake.. wtf did not get any decent hands. I have a feeling some of the players get rakeback on that **** too as some were encouraging it. Its like paing a lawyer a retainer for not doing sht. wtf?

Good thing I left and head to another poker room that does not do this nonsense.

Still checking them all out. It looks like the rest are not as big as this one but at least they follow rules of poker. The people at this place string bet like mofos, act out of turn, and name call. The dealers dont say anything it is so unprofessional.

Please post your experiences and recommendations for the poker rooms in this area

they even pput a stack of their chips in front of there cards as if they were betting... count the chips, then pull them all back and check.. wtf is this..

Is that allowed here or what?

If you don't like the timerake then you will have to play over at the IP.
If you don't like a dealer decision then tell the floor.
If you are looking to make money playing live cash in Biloxi there's only one place IMO...the Beau
You may make money at other casinos in the area but it won't be nearly as consistent, IMO.

Whats wrong with that? Thats what the yellow line is for, right?

Anyways...From Biloxi and play all the time...

Beau has a great poker room..but they do charge the time drop..which I happen to hate and its always full of locals who feed themselves off of the tourists. I prefer to play at the IP, which doesnt charge the 1/2 rake..and the games are really soft.

The uncapped buyin more than makes up for the time rake

im headed to biloxi next week. been there twice before and played 90% at Ip and rest at beau. it just kind of worked out that way, not necessarily intentional. however, now the ip sends me comp packages every month that includes 2 free nights at a time and buffets.

if i only have about 10-15 hrs to play poker on my trip, how worth it is it for me to go to the beau and start a player's card there? do they also comp rooms pretty generously like the IP?

Went to Biloxi for the first time on Christmas Day. Mostly a fact finding mission. The Hard Rock had one table of 1/2 no limit. Nothing else. The Beau had many more tables going. All of them 1/2 NL with one 4/8 limit. Both had a waiting list. The IP was about the same as the Beau.

I keep away from games like 1/2 NL mostly because I have found people want to gamble more than they want to play poker. Just did not have the bankroll to get into the 4/8 at the present time. Also girlfriend was with me and did not want to leave her sitting at the slots while I played for several hours. Hit the buffet at IP and it was good. However, people should not let their children run crazy and crash into tables where others are eating.

Nice to know about the comps at IP. Should attract fish, just hope I am not one of them.

You must not go to many casino buffets. I had the IP buffet on a comp no less and still was the worst buffet I ever had. Even the deserts sucked.

Yeah, you aint lying. It USED to be very good. But, just like ALOT of things at the IP are now, it sucks. Terrible.

The Beau's buffet is a lil better.

If you want a closer location, try the Ebro poker room at Ebro Greyhound Park. Its negative as compared to Biloxi is the Florida law $100 max buy in, but its positives are that it's closer than Biloxi, and has very fishy players due to their lack of experience playing larger stacks.

The buffet at the Beau must be fantastic because there was about 300 people waiting in line at 2p. I would not wait that long to eat Beyonce. Well...

Just get a comp from the poker room and hit the VIP line. And yes as most have said the Beau is the best pace to play hands down IMO. Can't wait for my next trip over there.

isnt the beau buffet expernsive.. i heard like $45 or some ****..i played for 2 hours paid $24 in rake did not win a hand and I dont think i got comped sht.. what u guys do? I play at hard rock and get comped all the time for food at buffet and hard rock cafe if i play bj.

games at IP and BEAU are plentiful. Prob at least always 3 tables going, up to 10. Hardrock is about 1-3. All are uncapped I believe but MIN buyin is $60 everywhere except beau is $100 min. The players at beau typically have a lot of cash and buyin for a lot it seems. I think I saw $5k on a 1/2 nl table, i thought that **** was 2/5. Beau does have 2/5 though in addition whereas no where else does to my knowledge. I am not sure what the time is or MIN but I bet its a lot.
Looser players and prob the best action can be found at beau. If you have a bankroll of at least 5-6 buyins or jusst 2-3 large ones you could do well here.
Comps wise there right IP comps u rooms 2 nites.. but beau does that as well for new players. I am still trying to find out how to get room at hard rock or concert tickets to events at any of the three. They claim to mail them to you a month in advance once on the list.

good luck donks

what are you guys doing for new years?

whats best?

New orleans
biloxi
pensicola
panama city
etc. unknown

or should i jsut spend $500 and go to vegas for the weekend

The Beau buffet is around $20 per person and its decent. Nothing overly spectacular. It is only a buffet in the end though. The poker room comps meals every 4 hours of live play I believe it is. The Hard Rock games suck. Ray Charles could navigate his way thru those tables. The Beau games usually have tremendous action and sometimes are extremely fishy.

If you ever wanted to go to LV for NYE, now is the time to do it.

Room occupancies are way down. I have not checked room rates, but they have to be better now than they have been for years for Dec 31. And they probably are not putting the onerous requirements of previous years for multiple day stays.

I'm looking to stay a week at the Beau Rivage and heard they had a poker room rate. Anyone know how I get the rate?

Talked to the Pensacola Greyhound Track on Tuesday. They are planning on late Jan or early Feb to open the card room there. They are staffing and training now.

Call Donna in the poker room. She will set you up with the poker rate. It is 5 or 6 hours of play per day. I can't remember.
