This is my first time on 2+2 and my first post.
I have logged 2500hrs of live 1/2 play in vegas using an app. My winrate over that span in just over $20/hr after rake and tipping. This also does not factor in the promotional money which I have made as well. I have qualified, played, and cashed in dozens of freerolls at MGM, Ballys, Harrah's, Flamingo and Monte Carlo. I would make a rough estimate of about another $8-$10/hr if I accounted for the money I had made in these frerolls and promotions. All thos took place between 2014-2015 until I got bored of poker and moved back to Florida and worked a "real job", as many would call it. I have also been a WSOP dealer since 2010, grinded 1/2 and 2/5 in florida as a winning player. I kept no real track of my wins/losses during those times, as they were before I was grinding 1/2 in Vegas. I plan on coming back to Vegas in a couple weeks to deal the 2017 WSOP. The money from which will become my bankroll. In past years I took poker for granted and really didnt do too much besides playing to get better.
Now, on the other hand, I have had an epiphany. I realize that I can do whatever I trully want, and the only thing I need to succeed is my will. I have never been a person to set goals or plan anything. Yet, now I have goals and plans. I plan to grind 40+hrs weekly and build my bankroll and move up in stakes. In the meantime, and during the "grind", I plan to take notes on significant hands to study later, I plan on reading poker books to expand and refresh my knowledge, and to log my progress. I would like to inspire and get inspiration from people of a like mimdset and similar aspirations.
What I would like from all of you now is any feedback, advice and ispiration to get me on my way and keep me on my path, for all of you to experience with me and vicariously through me success and to learn what it trully takes to achieve your goals. I plan on updating this post as I progress towards my goals. You should know that I will not be playing any poker for at least another 3 weeks and when I start, it will be limited, as I will be working 40+hrs dealing the WSOP. Yet, after that, I will be at WOT(wide open throttle) towards my goal of at least 20k cash by the end of Dec. With your help, far more.
To begin: I would like to know what are the best books in your opinion for low/mid level live cash games? What in your experience has been the most useful tools and habits to becoming better poker players? Who here actually grinds or has grinded 1/2 or 2/5 regularly, in vegas or wherever. I dont really plan on being limited by geography for too long. Id like to grind the whole country eventually.
Tips, ideas and questions welcome.

I think you will find inspiration in Andrew Neeme's poker vlog on YouTube.

As for books, I don't play NLHE, but I highly recommend Elements of Poker, by Tommy Angelo.

I don't think it's necessarily ideal to commit to 40 hours, or even more, of poker per week.

I'd maybe focus on playing at least 30 hours as well as being there every Friday and Saturday night.

Tuesday afternoon games aren't that great to begin with. You don't want to burn out and stop playing your A game by the time the weekend rolls around

TBH, if you were crushing 1/2 in LV over 2500 hours at a rate of $20/hr, there aren't many books that are going to help you. I'd probably read Miller's 1% book.

From what I've read here, LV isn't the place to try to make a living in poker. Lots of other places have softer games.

Use google and youtube to find content, free pdf's of books if you look around. Phil Galfond is the best player/teacher IMO. Look for promotions, tournaments, and soft/plentiful games. Learn equities at propokertools.com

Other than that:

A) Play good
B) Play often
