Any poker rooms in Madison? Any poker rooms in Madison?

Don't know what teh F you talking about at ho-chunk. I've been there 30 times and never left without a profit at the poker room. Yea, sometimes it's only $100 (and two hours of driving) but I've left with $1200 too.

They also spread a table of round by round of 1-2 NLHE/PLO this past Saturday. Stupid easy money since half the table had no clue how to play PLO. It was raked $4 max each pot too, LOL.

Ho-chunk is the nuts (or as best you're going to get around here). Pota is good too and not that much farther.

I do know of several weekly home games around Madison but they usually play at lower stakes, i.e. 50NL/100NL

I may be willing to host a game once in awhile in Madison but it's prob pretty sketch to get one organized on here. I'd have little to no security protection if some a$$hat wanted to jack the game.

Though my apartment does have two layers to get in, so I could search people each week but that'd be a pain.

the closest poker room to Madison would be the Ho Chunk De Jope Ho Chunk casino, which is in Manona on the Beltline Highway, 20 minutes away from Madison by car.

I've played there once yesterday and won quite a bit from the 1/2 no limit table, but I'm not sure if it's legal - check out the article below for more info.

There's gotta be some UW students here hosting a home game, right?

Played a tourney at the Willows last night. Willows is on North side heading out towards Token Creek.

Buy in is 40 dollars (20K) with 10 dollar 10k at break. Payout is pretty top heavy with only 4 spots getting paid and over 30 people played.

Game is pretty weak imo. Limping with 15BB and other pretty rec ish actions. I was told that some of the better players weren't present but it's a pretty easy game overall.
Just watch out for the black guy who thinks he's gods gift to poker. By watch out I mean watch him exit early.

The original ruling that brought into question Ho-Chunk Nation's right to offer poker, was just overturned by a state judge in favor of the Nation.

Here is a snapshot of the poker room at Dejope in Madiso that we took right before grand opening. pretty nice looking room, imo. The team there does great job and takes pretty good care of poker players.

Dammit, I was trying to hide these tourneys from you guys, but I guess since I haven't been to the Tues/Thursday games in a while I shouldn't.

This game, plus the one at Willows tavern are incredibly soft. I'm not that great of a player but I manage to make it to the final table like 75% of the time I'm there (probably money 30% of the time). Standard donk bar poker. Variance sometimes sucks, but you'll be good most of the time there.

Only 2 times I played at Willows (one was right before Thanksgiving) I managed to money, so I'll go back whenever my schedule allows it.

Yeah, that willows game is so weak. I got crap hands and made it to 6th busting when my KK lost to 1010 all in pre.
I only played about 14 hands all night and showed down AQ, QQ, AA and still got called every time I raised. Payout structure sucks balls tho.

Moving to Madison for grad school in August. What's in town other than that e-casino? What are your thoughts on Ho-Chunk?

Hmmm. Me loves the sound of that.

Feels like this is Home Poker territory and should be asked there.
