So ... The Floor is called over and 'simply' rules that Seat 1's hand is live and tells the Dealer to recreate the pot and move the chips away from Seat 2.
Seat 2 refuses to give up the chips. Floor comes back over after 5-6 minutes to find nothing resolved and Dealer is on phone trying to get a Supervisor ruling over the phone. Floor tells Dealer/Seat 2 to pull the chips off the table until Supervisor can make a ruling and the table can get back to playing some hands.
Supervisor actually shows up and talks to Dealer only, not the Floor who made the initial ruling. Tells Seat 1 that the dealer made a mistake and his hand should've been mucked, thus Seat 2 should keep the pot ... even though his hand was shown as the winner via the mistake. As a show of good faith, Supervisor gives Seat 1 his half of the pot from the cage and lets Seat 2 'keep' his chip stack intact. GL
There are so many WTFs here I don't even know where to begin.
After floor rules that seat 2 has to give up the chips, he should remain at the table until this is concluded, not immediately wander away again as he appears to have done.
Once seat 2 refuses, dealer should yell for the floor again.
How in the **** does the dealer end up on the phone with the (shift?) supervisor? Does each table have a bat phone? Did he just leave the table and well unsupervised? Did he get pushed while arguing with seat 2?
Regardless of how it logistically happened, what on earth possessed the dealer to call the shift supervisor, rather than talk to the floor, and let him handle it?
How does the shift supervisor take a call and not ask to get the floor's interpretations before even going to the table?
Shift Sup is allowed to overrule the floor ruling, but if he does so he should be sure to be right. His is an awful ruling, compounding the fact that he overruled the correct ruling made by the floor.
The largest WTF goes to giving half the pot from the cage. I don't understand how he still has a job after that. I mean, good for seat 1 I guess, but still. Holy ****.
