It depends on where your winnings are coming from. If you're playing with 7 people you can't beat and 1 person you can, you want - need, even - to have that 1 person stay. If you're playing with 7 people you can beat and 1 person you can crush, it's a question of winrate, i.e., your EV per hand times the number of hands per hour.

People should really strive to be the kind of player where any table is full of fish and hands per hour matter; rather than the kind of player that is scouring five different cardrooms for a 1/2 table he can beat.

of course one should always try to improve ones game. BUT, if i am at a table and i think that there are SEVEN opponents i cant beat its clearly time to change tables. If your EGO forces you to play in games that arent profitable (for you) then you might want to rethink your approach.

Maybe you should let your EGO run amuck a little so you have the motivation to get better. Go get your ass kicked a little, then get better at poker so the people you once considered tough become fish.

Then stop worrying about scurrying from table to table like some kind of rodent seeking fallen leftovers, and become the apex predator of your poker ecosystem and beat the **** out of people who beat the **** out of fish.

Then strive to play 40 hands/hr.

Even if you are the best player in the room it doesn't mean all games are equal. You will still make more at some tables than other tables. Table selection always important to increasing and optimizing winrate, even for the best player in the room.
