Manor Suites is an option..that's where I'm staying anyway...$1116 for a month, $289 per week...much the same as Budget Suites, just a step up...located on the very south end of the strip.

Much better rates can be found here:

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/travel-deals/704925/

and sometimes here:
http://hotels.travelzoo.com/las-vegas-hotels/

Don't forget to slip the check in people 20 and ask for a better room. They can usually find something for you

ty for the links, some good deals there it looks like.

Thoughts on TI versus Mirage? If I go the hotel route, I don't think I'd want to stay anywhere south of Bellagio or north of TI since I figure to do most of my playing near those two properties (Bellagio/Caesar's/Wynn/Venetian), and I basically want the cheapest place that still makes me look baller enough to impress drunk girls when I tell them where I'm staying. They're both in the ~$850 range for a week.

In my opinion the Mirage is the one of the best bang for the buck hotels right now as they are losing the super high end business to the Wynn, Venetian, Bellagio, Palazzo types, but still is a high quality resort. I think TI still hasn't got rid of the little kid imagine, even with the sluttier pirate show.

If you want to be a super baller, check this one outI also have a few more Mirage codes if you need them)

https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/b...T08&kbid=27920

It's a little more than a typical room during the week at the Wynn/Venetian, etc but imagine getting to say the phrase "penthouse" to drunk chicks looking for a good time in vegas.

Bally's is also going for real cheap right now for you nit types. Here's a link for a deal for $50 a night weekdays. (I have never seen a decent quality strip hotel that low)

That Mirage code doesn't have any available rooms for the dates I chose (6/29-7/6) The Bally's one wound up being more expensive than Mirage, I guess that week doesn't qualify for the $50/night.

Okay, weird, I forget how I got to this page (maybe from the fatwallet link above) but it gave me the mysterious $99/night rate at TI that I got a week or two ago but couldn't reproduce.

So, I can now do TI for $693 or Mirage for $864...hrm.

That link is just the ordinary TI page.

The casino in the Mirage is more likely to impress drunk chicks more, not that TI is dog meat. My choice would be TI because I like the poker room a lot more, but that's irrelevant if you're playing somewhere else most of the time. The comps in TI's poker room go a long way in their restaurants.

Compare and contrast: Gold Coast vs Imperial Palace

Priorities are cost (obv), convenience to the Rio, dumpiness or lack thereof, convenience to good spots on the strip.

It seems like IP wins on cost, GC wins on Rio-proximity (because the shuttle stops at what 1AM?), maybe IP is dumpier?, and IP is clearly better for getting to Caesar's, Bellagio, Venetian etc.

Other thoughts?

I've stayed at GC two years ago for the WSOP and it was OK. I'm wondering if I'd regret saving a little money by moving to IP.

thanks for any input...

I think you will regret it
Had to stay at IP last summer and it was terrible, I honestly would not stay there for free.

I google for wsop rates and found the above link. The code it uses gives lower rates than the one on the WSOP site for some reason. So I guess there are different codes floating around.

So it looks like the Harrah's rate(after you buy into a bracelet event) is the best value?

You can find Orleans for $35/ night midweek (most days) very decent rooms ( I stayed there before) and decent poker tournaments at 12pm and 7pm nightly.

Also other hotel deals at slightly higher rates.....good deals in all.

Sheket
enjoy.

For those of you with Harrah's cards looking to book room at Harrah's properties, do not try to book through the worldseriesofpoker.com reservations page. The rooms are 20-40% more expensive than just reserving right through harrahs.com even at "entrant" rates with your total rewards card entered. Plus about 1/3 of the rooms are listed as "unavailable" even though you can clear out your cookies, load up harrahs.com and reserve the room there.
