At my local charitables
So for the 3rd week in a row a reg (who threatened to kill my dog in the past) has been throwing wrappers at my head. At first I laughed, but at the end there was about 50+ wrappers he hit me with. So last week he did it again, I complained to the floor and she yelled across the room at him and he stopped.
Today I get hit again??? I went and told floor and she again yelled across the room to him to stop.
Im walking back and hes smarting off saying I didnt mind it last time? I called floor last time so obviously floor isnt working.
So I flipped and said a few swear words and got kicked out for the night.

How in the hell do you ever ever ever ever let it get to this point? You gotta stand up for yourself man, even if it results in being kicked out and/or banned.

Didn't you start a bunch of threads detailing how the staff hate you at the room too?

I mean, yeah, this is pretty bad as a standalone story, but 50 wrappers strewn about your seat isn't something the staff are generally oblivious to. If they're giving out half-hearted warnings people are going to pick up on it and assume they have some slack to keep misbehaving.

I have to question how addicted you are to be playing in this room to allow this to happen. I'd play somewhere else. At a minimum, you should name the room where this is happening.

Different room where floor hates me, thats a 8 dollar rake room. This is a local charitable that switches location daily. The offender is a huge guy with an 3ven bigger personality, he wears shorts all year in Chicago. [name removed], if youre near chicago you know him. I like the rooms and hes rarely on my table, he shortstacks the 2/5 usually. even on 1/2 he shortstacks.
As i said the room travels and Ive rarely been on his table. All these incedents hes across the room throwing the candy wrappers he eats.
Im pissed that he is allowed to throw things but me calling him out gets me in trouble.
He should have been kicked out for physically starting a fight IMO. Me talking was the least of any reaction I could do at that point.

Is there a reason not to just play at the Shoe instead?

You gotta grow some balls and stop letting him bully you. Yesterday I saw this happen:

Hand between recreational regular and grinder goes to showdown. It's on the rec player to show first but he doesn't. Then, when the grinder implores him to show the rec players grabs the grinder's cards and flips them face up for the whole table to see. That kind of thing would not fly with me. For 1, I would crumple the cards up before I let him take them out of my hands and for 2, if he did manage to wrestle them away from me I would go off on him and demand the floor, and go off on him some more.

These guys need to understand that sort of shenanigans won't be tolerated.

FWIW, the grinder joked it off and said the rec player needs to show him a hand sometime but what's going to stop the player from pulling that again in the future? NOTHING.

If they kick you out and let him stay, I'd think you're not a floor favorite at that room either.

Is that guy doing stuff to everyone or is he only picking on you?

Why would you crumple the cards?

It's the result if you hold on tight to them. The rec player would be rightly blamed for destroying the cards. He would learn. The hard way, but anyway.

I would joke it off though if he already flipped my cards. Otherwise I would be the guy who loses the mental battle. Would of course demand to see his cards too. If he tossed them in the muck I would call him jokingly a "coward", which would have an effect, because it's true.

Yes. In other words I would hold on to them so tightly such that I would risk the cards being destroyed rather than them being forcibly removed from my hands.

I'm thankful I live in a world where people act like grown-ups.

I'm even more thankful that I'm not so addicted to a game that I would suffer such nonsense to pursue it, rather than find another way to spend my time.

I wish I was addicted. I have the opposite issue (having to force myself to go play).

My diamond shoes are too tight.

Should I get myself one of these, for showing everybody I have balls at the table?

03-20-2015 , 09:03 PM
was that 50 separate days of thrown wrappers or one pile of 50 wrappers?

and isn't this revealing his identity as there is likely only one wrapper thrower in Chicago poker?

This guy is well known for berating players, old ladies included. He threatened to kill my dog last year because I was bragging on her shutzhund skills??? From then on I hate him. I avoid his tables because he shuts players down with his abuse. I wasnt at his table any of these times hes assault and battering me with candy wrappers. He is kicked out of the local casino, and the management of this room doesnt tolerate this behavior either. This floor person is just incompetent, not mad at me. I got kicked out for kinda starting a fight, they had a bottle broken over someones head a few weeks ago, but Id say the fight was on at the point he assaulted me. And btw this guy is literally well over twice my size, he can ragdoll me, but I wont put up with him.

You were involved in a harsh thing. Was it a group fight?
03-21-2015 , 01:20 AM
Isn't there some type of security that works in this Chicago room?

Why didn't you just quietly get up from your chair and seek someone out?

Who cares about his actual size? You stand up for yourself by NOT being physical. Besides, do you really think he's looking for a physical fight? The guy's a bully, nothing more. The way to fight back and punish these types is by using your brain, not your fists.

You said that management doesn't tolerate that type of behavior, correct?...but,the Floor that didn't do anything about it that night was just incompetent, correct? Well, first things first---report her to management and be sure to tell them that she REFUSED to take action when there was a player in their room who had been abusing you.

Does poker mean that much to you that you're willing to sacrifice your dignity and self-respect? I feel sorry for ya, I really do.

Are these the type of grown-ups that you're glad to be around? Seeing that you're a dealer(and from reading many of your funny stories in The Breakroom thread...and I mean funny!) I would think that you were right in the heart of all the bs.

When I tell this story to people who don't frequent casinos, their faces indicate that they're not sure if I'm not making this stuff up.

Well, let's not confuse the people I must endure in my workplace, and the people I CHOOSE to be around.

You may choose

Unfortunately we cannot choose the people we have to endure here.

I'm seriously considering starting an ignore list using the browser script method someone mentioned in an ATF thread a couple weeks ago.

Wouldn't it make the forum more difficult to moderate? I mean, if you would ignore for example a certain poster with a screen name starting with a "p"?
