why would you want to take your baby to the casino? And at most places --- hotel, yes, casino floor, no.

As long as their over 21 yes babies are often found at poker tables...

But if you mean actual infants, Hell no... what kind of trailer trash gambling degenerate moron would take an infant to casino and keep it at the table?

If you think this is a good idea, Gamblers Anonymous has a hot line call it you have a problem

I see mothers with babies on the casino floor all the time, now neither they nor the babies are gambling but it isn't like security snatches them in mid stride as they stroll through the gaming area either.

An adult can have a baby (anyone under 21) in the casino, if they are headed to an allowed location (dining, movie, show etc). You are not allowed to gamble with them present or stop and watch. Just dont lock them in your car and then go gamble - definately -EV on being parent of the year.

Coushatta casino in Louisiana about 8 years ago, a couple minutes after I walked into the place for the first time, heard over the public address system:

"Mr. and Mrs. So-and-so, this is your third and final call to the daycare center, if you do not come and pick up your child in 15 minutes the police will be called. Thank you."

in indiana, youre not allowed to bring infants into the liquor store.

you can however bring an infant into walmart which is a store and sells liquor.

this is not true in all locations. my wife and i were headed to a restaurant in showboat AC only accessible through the casino floor with our baby in his stroller, and security did intercept us as soon as we walked in. even after explaining we were going to dinner and they could escort us, the refused and we had to eat somewhere else.

depends.

at most Nevada casinos, anybody under 21 can be walking through the casino but they cannot stop and loiter. this includes stopping nad waiting for somebody in their part to exit a restroom. they must keep moving.

My wife was nursing our infant son feet from the food court at one casino (we have family in Vegas and my wife doesn't gamble so she was waiting at the food court for her grandmother) and a security guard asked her to leave the casino floor. Now asking a mother to stop doing what she was doing is akin to getting between a mother bear and her cub in the spring time. you just don't do it! My wife felt like a challenge and the security guard told her she was in the casino and couldn't loiter. my wife countered that she was at the food court and could. she was 20 feet from the nearest machine and 2 feet from a table in the food court mind you. this challenge went back and forth a few times before the security guard apparently decided he had better things to do and left. I got a chuckle out of it!

In California, many (most?) of the Indian casinos don't allow children in the doors, even to go have dinner.

Meh, the payout structure for parent of the year sucks anyway.

Under the heading of why I need a cell phone with a camera, last summer in Vegas, dowtown, guy is drinking a Bud King can, pushing a kid in a stroller, and has another kid (maybe 3yrs old) that is wandering a bit, and the guy gently kicks the kid to keep him on course. Wife looks at me and says, "Take me back to the strip." Not that that matters because there are a lot of strollers on the strip too.
We leave the 4 kids home because it is our vacation. Take the kids to see the mouse.

Before the MGM went back to their adult theme they had an enormous daycare facility. IIRC the Excalibur had a very nice one as well complete with arcade games, and one of those enclosed cages full of plastic balls. The prices were a lot lower than your typical babysitter as well.

That used to be the rule in AC - they changed it about 5 years ago but not all casinos have caught on to it yet.

this was about a year ago at showboat. can't speak for current rules. i understand the reasoning for it, but to not even allow us to be escorted to the restaurant with a then-seven-month-old seems a little over the top.

We regularly bring our 14 month old to the daycare center at our local casino (3-4 days per week, about 4 hours per session). Our kid likes going there and the staff is nice.
The great part is that the casino will allow you to use your accrued comps from the pits (we don't play slots) and apply them toward the daycare charges.
