Re: For you AC Regs a question- Recession Poker

I have a different perspective on the matter.

I play 20/40 regularly with the occasional 40/80 hold-em and I found the games to very juicy. Perhaps even more so than before the recession. My rationale for this occurance is that as more casual gamblers are loosing signifigant sums in the stock market or their jobs they look to gambling to offset those losses. I found men in their 40's playing like 20 year olds and of course the asians were playing like maniacs.

I am making a habit of going to the borg every sat night as my results have gone up signifigantly. so just throwing another perspective out there

Gambling is recession proof.

During the depression the only industries that didn't completely collapse were gaming and Hollywood.

People really have their priorities all messed up.

Re: For you AC Regs a question- Recession Poker

I think the Borgata is less busy now than it has been since the new room opened in 2006. Fewer tables in use at prime time on weekends. Games like 40/80 LHE getting starting later in the day.

A few of us talked about this over the last few days and all agreed that the recession is affecting the amount of play. Most players know how (not) well they do, so when their financial security is threatened, they scale back. But, some of us true degens will persevere, so you still have an opportunity.
