Wouldn't it be nice if Casinos _____________

Wouldn't it be nice if casinos _____________________

Yesterday, this guy sits down at the table and I swear he must have been allergic to soap. He was rancid, like a sweaty jock strap wrapped in bacon.

And then I thought, "wouldn't it be nice if Casino Security smelled people as they entered and if they stank denied them entry.

This guy was so rancid I had to do a seat change. Lucky for us he only played 20 minutes before busting out. Once he left, we all commented on his lack of hygiene.

Anyways, fill in the blank.

Wouldn't it be nice if Casinos _____________

You need to play more rooms. CT casinos have free drinks, for example.

The reality is that compared to the granny that rides the bus to the casino to play the penny slots, the average poker player and poker room is a waste of space to the casino financial people. Once you understand that, you'll be grateful for any comps you get. It wasn't that many years ago that you had to be playing $25 bet or better table games to get any comps at all.

Borgata has free drinks. Every other place in AC I've been also has free drinks. I haven't been to many of them though, so ymmv.

I was actually shocked when the server told me it was $X for a drink in Lawrenceburg Hollywood when I played poker there. I was like "Bwhaaa?"

Back in the 90s when I played in CO, if you played the $5-$10 limit game or higher you got free food

But there was some weird law up there at the time that dealt with buy-ins or betting limits??? I can't remember but I do remember free drinks and great food comps.

Washed/replaced chips more often. I hate when chips stick together.

This one is huge, imo.

For my wish list I suppose I would hope to see KCL spread. It's just such a great game and it never plays anywhere.

I don't understand why someone didn't make a scene at the table if that guy really smelled that bad. If that guy is sitting next to me I would be quick to tell his nasty ass to take a shower.

Re: Wouldn't it be nice if Casinos _____________

A million years ago, I pulled in a mammoth pot in a $3-6 limit game at The Mirage, busting three different people. Before I was finished stacking it, they had brought in three new players--and one of them stunk so bad, I couldn't stand it. A seat change wouldn't help, they were all at the far end of the table. I started racking up.

"Drag a big pot then take off, huh?"

"No, actually, I'd rather stay...but somebody at this table STINKS so bad, I can't stand it! I wish I knew who it was so I could tell them to their face that they stink so bad, I can't sit with them, not even at the far end of the table! And I have a very weak sense of smell--"

"Imagine what I'm going through," the dealer cracked out of the side of her mouth.

I was still new enough at poker not to realize how much venting the cashiers have to listen to, and I vented about this as I cashed out. The cashier called a floor person over, and I told my story to her.

As I was leaving the cardroom, the floor was ejecting the offending gentleman.

This was almost twenty years ago, but I still add "Nice job, Mirage!" every time I tell the story.

Though I haven't been faced with that problem since (certainly not to that degree), I'll now speak up if it ever arises again. The floor can't do anything if they don't know about it.

Back to the topic: Wouldn't it be nice if casinos offered better health insurance plans to their employees? Folks where I work who finally put in enough years to to be eligible, end up turning it down, because it costs $1k/mo and covers almost nothing.

YTF, check you PM and find out why working in Oklahoma isn't all that bad...

BTW, as to foul smelling guests, in our room a dealer cannot complain about a bad smell emanating from a guest and see any relief but any customer can and something will be done if the problem is bad enough.

Wouldn't it be nice if Casinos had smoke free areas besides poker.

Washed the damn chips once in a while.

Had unicorns galloping through the poker room farting rainbows and crapping leprechauns with pots of gold.
