What I really don't like is to hear poker pros talk about how much money they make, then see them tip a dollar.

Maybe that's why I never win at the poker room
ya theres your problem

It was a serious post. I was attempting to just throw some off the wall things out there but for what it is worth I tip 1 dollar on every pot I win because like it has been said a million times you are tipping for the service I guess. Although the loser of the hand had the same service as you did so why shouldnt they tip as well.

Sometimes people tip me after they lost a hand. It's rare but not unheard of. So feel free, we won't stop you...

Re: Tipping CONTAINMENT thread.

Played PLO at Rio yesterday....had a dealer come through who was the best PLO dealer I have ever seen. He always knew the exact amount, set sidepots perfectly, never talked, and got out about 15 hands. I lost $200 or so during his down but still gave him $5 when he left and told him he was the best PLO dealer I have ever seen. Had 2 or 3 other players also agree with me and toke him on his way out also.

In that case shouldn't everyone at the table tip $1.00 each hand since everyone gets the same service?

When you split a large pizza four ways with your buddies, do you each pay for one large pizza?

Yes if I can talk them into paying me. And that depends in how drunk they are

Re: Tipping CONTAINMENT thread.

i don't mind tipping a dealer every hand i win, as long as he sends a toke my way 5% of the pot or between $1-5 everytime he deals me a sick beat. Sounds good to me. Any dealers interested in this PM me ill be in vegas on July 4th for 10 days, maybe we can work something out.

it is a win win. u raise your hourly rate and i get a rebate when you make sweet love to me

easy game.

I'm pretty sure I desperately need a repertoire. Where do I go to get one and how much does a small one cost? I gather from this post that they can be upgraded, so I'd just need a repertoire starter kit, I think.

Why, the Repertoire Magazine, of course.

Frankly, I'm surprised that a man of your stature has no repertoire.

Re: Tipping CONTAINMENT thread.

Whats the consensus on tournaments that have a "dealer appreciation" add-on you can buy? Are you still supposed to tip at the end of the tournament? When I dealt we didn't have this and I would have loved it because we were usually working for minimum wage during tournament hours.

Say the buy-in is 45 and the appreciation add-on is 5 with a tournament designed to last about 3 hours. Tip ontop of that if you make top 3?

Re: Tipping CONTAINMENT thread.

I took down a $200 pot a few weeks ago live. Gave the dealer $5 and a player who wasn't involved said I should've tipped more. I pointed out that theres no rule saying you must tip.

Was I correct?

Re: Tipping CONTAINMENT thread.

I'm all tip
All the time
I drag pots
I bust a rhyme

I toke it up
Then toke it over
When I jam it up
I'm the nut holda

I can't be beat
When I'm on fire
Black chip my bitch
Call me a liar

I get crazy nuts
When the pot get higher
I straight call ya bluff
Then ya call me Sire

Poker Mac
Is what I'm called
Best run for cover
You bout to get balled

So take my advice
Cuz it comes for free
You wanna tip?
Push the pot to me

Peach, I'm out of here

Poker Mac, kenealy13, 2012, word to your mother!
