Re: Soft 2/5 NL games in Las Vegas?

+1 to the softest 2/5 games being at the places that don't run 2/5 regularly. As for the room that run's 2/5 daily/almost daily that I consider to be the softest my vote goes to Caesars.

How many do/did you notice buying in for more than $500 @ Caesar's since it's uncapped.

I would say that 80-90% of people bought in for $600 or less in my experience at the 2/5 there. This will change for the series I am sure.

B has soft 2-5, having super deep stacks actually makes a lot of people play tighter. Its pretty crazy over there imo.

Deeper stacks make people play worse and make many more mistakes post flop as opposed to playing tight.

The mistakes having a deep stack are magnified i agree, but it goes both ways.

Re: Soft 2/5 NL games in Las Vegas?

I played at the Venetian for 5 days this week and liked the action. Crazy bluffs, multiple pre-flop callers (4-7) for a $25 raise, deep stacks and short wait for a seat even though there was a conference this week. I am not sure if the conference had anything to do with the type of players but the game was soft and profitable for me.

Wtf...tons of sharks at 2/5 in Vegas? Never seen it except when I had a unlucky table at Aria. Most of the 2/5 players know just enough to be able to get by against whales but easily crushed otherwise. Id rather be able to Iso fish anyway and pwn bad regs 200bb deep and I know many here would say that if you can Iso an ep limper from Mp then its too tight of a table.

Re: Soft 2/5 NL games in Las Vegas?

I played a few $2/5 games in Vegas. Didn't find them particularly soft at all. 1 or 2 obvious black friday refugees per table, 1-2 fish. Sample size is smaller in LA, but LA seemed way softer. I was often the best player at a $5/5 table. (I suck)

I think this is some of the best advice ITT. Rooms in which 1/2 or 1/3 are usually the highest NL games occasionally will get a 2/5 game going, and usually this will indeed be the softest 2/5 game you're going to find in LV, because the players will be almost 100% tourists, and generally not too serious/experienced players.
The problem of course is finding these games when they do happen.
I was in the Mirage about three weeks ago, just walking through, and I saw a list for 2/5 with about 6 names on it. I asked if there were any chance of the game actually going, and was told that if I would add my name to the list, they'd call it immediately. I did, they did, and the table filled within about 15 minutes. Best table I've been at in months.....
Otherwise, among the rooms which run 2/5 every day, I think it's almost random as to which tables might be soft at any given time.

Re: Soft 2/5 NL games in Las Vegas?

There are 2 good angles you can approach this from. First, the places that don't have a consistent $2/5nl game going like Bally's, PH, Mirage, and Mandalay Bay are where you can find the juicy games because it is usually $1/2nl players and tourists taking a stab either for fun or after a good run at $1/2nl.

Additionally, I like the bigger rooms like Bellagio, Aria, Venetian, and even Wynn where they will give you some selection of $2/5nl tables to choose from. With this type of room, you get to choose your table and even switch tables to find a profitable table.

I table change aggressively trying to get on a juicy table because it is the difference between a huge night and an average night. One donk creates action across the whole table and everyone gets looser. If you are one of the few sane ones not caught up in the mania, you will crush it. Plus at a wild table, they don't notice you playing tight aggressive because they are all wired from the action and the talk. Usually lots of talk and drinking at these tables.

Re: Soft 2/5 NL games in Las Vegas?

The Wynn, Venetian & Aria are all tough IMO.

Mirage back in the day was so easy and soft it rarely goes anymore. Try the Palms, I also had good experience at Caesars but that was a while ago....i know a lot of people fled the room with the rake and all that.

Bellagio also I think is best action game on the strip for 2/5....venetian can be only on weekends I think.

Anyone's opinion change during wsop? Any places that get better/worse? I don't know about quality, but just passed thru Aria @ 5:30 pm & the list for most all of the lower limit games is staggering ....

it's like that at the aria pretty much all year long these days. I try to show up no latter than 11-12noon.

for the most part, the bigger rooms will just fill up fatter during WSOP... Aria, Venetian, Bellagio and spill over to the other good rooms... MGM, Wynn.
