Oceans 11 PLO

For all San Diego/Orange County PLO players - I received an email from Oceans 11 last night. In the email: "Playing Pot Limit Omaha Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (sic)"

I guess it's official now....

Oceans 11 has been IMO one of the best run cardrooms in the greater LA area and I've heard rumblings that a PLO game actually goes there. But for this sort of thing you really want to look at the Live PLO Games Master List thread to get information from players. Even this post would fit there and you will get feedback from those that play.

Cardrooms in general (at least in LA) will often claim games are "spread every day at 4pm (or whatever)" that hardly ever go in reality. Or if someone at the cardroom answers the phone and you ask a question such as "Do you spread 5 card jacks or better draw?" you will often get an affirmitve response even though the last live game was last spread ten years ago (probably in the case of 5 card jacks or better draw the last live player is no longer living ).

The idea is to get you into the cardroom. IMO this is counterproductive in that a person learns not to trust the word of a cardroom employee which simply has to be bad for the room in the long run.

Agree with everything you said, Rick, except the part about oceans 11 being in the greater LA area. San Diego has it's own identity u know.

and yes, this game does go routinely with Fridays being the primary day.

If you remember (and I think that's a big IF....haha) I personally invited you to the game last year sometime.

I always thought everything including Santa Barbara and anything to the south down to the Mexican border was part of the greater LA area and San Diego was a sort of "edge city" .

I do remember. Unfortunately Friday (instead of Saturday) has become gf night and she prefers PL Omaha H/L Turbos on Stars. She was actually up quite a bit for the thirty or so she played! I'll still try to make it down but for PLO I really like playing that game 3-6 tables online. Of course this might end June 1 .

The PLO game at Ocean's 11 is now a 2/5 opt 10 staddle utg w/ a 300-1000 buy-in that goes every Tuesday and Friday about 4/5pm. Option to run it multiple times in all-in pots if players in pot agree, some only run it once. Game is comp'd for food and Ocean's has a pretty good menu. The max drop is 4/hand and no jackpot drop, so you save a little on rake.
