Niagara Falls Rooms, Fallsview

What is the best value for a 1 bedroom accomodation in close proximity of fallsview casino? I've heard of good rates for poker players for things like thurs to sun but can't find on travel sites.

I stayed at the Sheraton down by the old casino a couple years back....nice hotel, and they had a surprisingly low weekend rate at the time....maybe a 20 min walk up the street to Fallsview.

Re: Niagara Falls Rooms, Fallsview

I am at Fallsview somewhat regularly, but I live nearby so haven't had to get a room. I will say there are lots of motels in downtown Niagara Falls that advertise rooms for $50/night, which sounds a bit too good to be true, but I suppose it's possible. They post these rates on their marquis outside.

So you may just want to get in a couple hours early, walk around and find a place to stay. The other option is to have a taxi take you down Lundy's Lane which is a couple miles out but there are some roach motels just past the strip clubs. But then any savings you make may be eaten up by cab fare going to/from your motel.

If you're taking your own car, parking in the Falls is reasonable - pretty much the whole city is $5/day max. There's a big lot just north of the casino on Fallsview Blvd. that's $5/day and a short walk to the casino.

Im heading to the Fallsview for the first time tonight! Where is the best place for low limit 1/2 and 2/4? do they have a limit on what you can sit down with?

Re: Niagara Falls Rooms, Fallsview

They only offer 5/10 limit at Fallsview. Everything else is no limit. They also only have 1 table of limit so the wait could be long. I'm not sure about on a Monday, but on a Friday or Saturday the wait SUCKS (1-2 hours, even if you call in advance).

Call them ahead of time and have them put your name on the list. You then have 90 minutes to show up and check in.

If 5/10 is too rich for your blood, then you can cross the border into the US and play at the Seneca Niagara poker room. They have 2/4 limit there and sometimes 3/6. The waits are much shorter. Again, call ahead 60 minutes before you get there and they'll sit you down.

If you're halfway decent at poker, I'd say play the Fallsview game. If you're just looking to putz around for a while, go to Seneca Niagara in the US. They also give you free drinks in the States. At Fallsview, you're paying about $6 for a bottle of beer minimum.

The casino in the US is very close to the border. Just cross the bridge, keep walking straight and you can't miss it. Remember your passport for border crossing.

Oh yeah, and as for the "limit" you can sit down with I think both places are 5 or 10 big bets minimum. There is no maximum.

what's the action like on 2/4 LHE on a Friday afternoon? Is there usually a waiting list? I am cruising through the area and am thinking about taking a poker detour.
