I'd love to see a "how far would a drunk have to go to push you off a good table?" thread.

I've seen this one a few times. "I thought he was bluffing!" Me, "but your hand doesn't beat his bluff". *blank stare*

saw this in a home game, on a pretty dry board my buddy calls the neighborhood LAG on the river with 8hi. He shows, LAG shows Qhi and I ask "what were you doing?!" he says "i thought he was bluffing." The LAG laughs and says "well... I thought I was "

this statement is actually wrong. sorry.

depending on the circumstances, he may be right. Strange but true. If on bubble, or bigger payout spot he is right. AA vs 3 others is like 43%. Would you like to miss being in the Nov 9 at 43% ?

Ya ICM can show that there are situations in tournaments where you would want to fold AA. Although the chance of quadrupling up may give you such a greater chance at going deeper that it is worth the initial risk... I don't know ICM very well at all but I just know that there are times where there are huge disincentives to get in a confrontation.

the best part of this thread is that roughly half the posts here actually belong, not because of the others players but because the posters thinking is borderline retarded itself

Uhm, unless this is a satellite, what tournament would you want to fold a 43% hand winner for a chance to quadruple up? Seems like excellent odds to me.

The worst part (well, technically the best since it keeps the fish thinking this way) is that the board ended up being 9 high, with him having a straight. Seems like the correct move to me!

Ignoring suits, 4-4 can make 4 straights, K-K can only make two.

A-5, 2-6, 3-7, 4-8 vs. 9-K and 10-A, unless I'm missing something - which is entirely possible
