Re: Money Clip? (how to carry $3-$5K in cash)

I hate bringing my wallet to the poker table myself. I generally bring chips to the casino. I am planning on getting a pouch of some sort, 0it could carry cash, chips, etc.

If anyone has any suggestions for a pouch or something with a zipper or buttons which fits in your pocket?

Nothing says "I'm from da hood" better than a purple Crown Royal bag.

You can also buy them in "gold" and "silver" colors for that true gangsta look!
I also go binder clip. Large one will stretch and just fit $10K (double folded), and it is nice and solid, will not slip out of your pocket, and easy to figure out where it is always...

Does anyone else kind of obsessively rub ones pocket when they have a significant amount of bills in there?

do you wear skinny jeans or something? $5k should fit easily in your pocket. Small bills on one side, 100s on the other.

Re: Money Clip? (how to carry $3-$5K in cash)

When I go to play poker, I just keep my money folded over once in my front pocket. I don't use a paper clip, money clip, or rubber band. I usually have $1K to $4K and it is fine in my pocket without any sort of clip or band or anything.

I don't put anything else in that pocket and have never had a problem. I also have a wallet sometimes but agree that it is best to keep it slim so that you don't feel it when you're sitting at the poker tables for hours.

Re: Money Clip? (how to carry $3-$5K in cash)

I use 500 EUR bills in my wallet.

A few days ago, i saw someone cash out around 90k (he had 7 10k placques and some chips). they gave him 500s with a rubber band. He put it in his pocket and asked for a cab. I thought that was somewhat reckless, since the way to the cab is not secured in any way, you basically walk through an empty mall. </derail>

EDIT: i only carry a couple grand fwiw

i just use a wallet but i keep it in my front pocket as it is uncomfortable and less secure if you keep it in the back pocket.
but i rarely carry over 2k. i'd go with a rubber band with 5k+.

I dont see how having a big piece of metal in your pocket is more comfortable than a wallet. Just because you have money in a wallet doesnt mean you need to put a whole bunch of other stuff in there to make is uncomfortable to carry.

Yeah, get a couple extra wallets, just carry 100s in them.

Rubber band. See "Donnie Brasco."

Anyone know if the office-supply binder clip sets off the metal detector at the airport?

Re: Money Clip? (how to carry $3-$5K in cash)

A backpack is fine, but probably a little overkill for $5K. For me personally, I am usually carrying 2/3rds of that on any given day. I would def use a backpack if bringing $10K plus however.

My main thing is I want to have as little as possible on me when playing, hence why I don't wear a wallet. I do bring an iPad fairly often which is already encumbersome enough, but that I can justify since it's on the table rail.

http://www.sciatica101.com/basics/ca...-sciatica.html

haven't used a wallet (with any regularity) in 8 years.
my back first started bugging me on the way back from a poker trip in Tunica.
My back is much better now.

I use a standard metal money clip for small bills/cards, and a binder clip for 100s. I then use a rubber band also, perpendicular to the clip.

I just recently started using the binder clip; they're plentiful around my office and i just thought "hmmm... i bet that would make a good money clip".
also, as previously posted, works equally well for 1k or 5k.
