Old dude to my direct right steps away from the table after folding his big blind to a raise.
Hand plays out, I post big blind and expect there will be a dead small blind. Dealer starts with me and pitches the first card to about 5 people when old dude sits back down and posts his small blind. Dealer says "we can fix this" then continues dealing first cards to everyone including small blind. He then proceeds to deal me my second card and goes around the table ending at sb.
Seemed not right to me, but I didn't say anything because I couldn't see how this would give anyone an advantage. No one else at the table commented either.
So was this a misdeal?

At the point the SB sat down and posted he should have just been dealt (it shouldn't be a misdeal because he got dealt out)
At the point the dealer dealt him in -out of order -it should be a misdeal.
Does it matter? well if we assume the dealer isn't cheating it doesn't matter. But the reason we have set procedures for dealing is because if we don;t have a baseline for what the dealer is supposed to be doing ... it becomes easier for him to cheat.
