Re: M8trix Casino (San Jose, CA) hype thread

Agree completely with DgiHarris.

They've tried it before and they failed miserably. Not to mention the revenue running these things wouldn't justify running many of them.

Run 4 of them at once?? LOL, now thats funny. There is barely enough tables for cash games, you'll be lucky to get 1 running.

I wouldn't hold your breath thinking SNGs are going to happen. And agree with Angus, I'm sure the dealers will love them. The tournaments pay lousy already, doubt these SNG "pros" will make it worth their while either.

And I don't expect the vig to be that small. You have to pay for a table for 4 hrs.
Exactly. They can expect to drop $150 to $200 an hour on a limit game, so a 4 hour sng will have to rake at least $600. Not to mention the issue of dealers expecting about $120 in tips during that period.

Yup, they died out in Vegas years ago. No reason to expect much different here.

they need to make it a fun place to play without employee egos getting in the way of the players fun.

GC imo already does a considerably better job than Bay 101 at this.

Of course, I would rank Bay 101 as COMPLETELY TERRIBLE at this, so I'm not saying GC is great or anything.

If that's the case, then I got lucky. I'll be in the San Jose area from Aug 4th to Aug 11th. Guess I'll have to stop by and check it out.

Well, one of the two venues will not be able to gamble.

It might actually be fun to hang out at GC when it closes. I've never been in a casino when it closed before.

Re: M8trix Casino (San Jose, CA) hype thread

M8trix will open on Tuesday, August 7 at 10AM.

They will have an "official" ribbon cutting on Wednesday, August 8 at 8AM. 8AM on 8/8 because the number 8 is a lucky number in the Chinese community. However, the casino will officially open for business on Tuesday at 10AM.
