Looking for a great place in the US for NL200-500 Looking for a great place in the US for NL200-500

Hello,

I know there must be some threads regarding this; don't be too harsh on me, was looking for a similar thread but 2+2 is just so... HUGE

I want to visit the US again. In 2009 I stayed 2 weeks in AC and 2 month in Vegas, mainly to play poker. This time I want something else. If i run extremely well I'm able to visit Vegas later.

I want:

More than 1 casino in the area *optional
Tables with a beatable rake @1/2
To be able to tableselect (~10+ tables?) @2/5 (or 5/5)
A good reg/fish ratio @NL500
Affordable hotel ($30-$50/night?)
Free wifi
Good food
Comfortable chairs

A big plus (to not say requirement) is a place where people tend to buyin with 100 to 200BB. Hate if it's a place where it's common to sit with $150 at NL500...

Do you you have some recommendations for me? I'm free to travel whereever I want right now and want to book quickly.

I hope I've picked the right forum.

Greetings

Pretty sure the only place with that cheap of hotels and that many games will be Vegas, and you'll probably need to get comped rooms or stay at a weekly value place or something. Resort fees at most vegas hotels are at least $15 a night.

You could also probably find a week stay type motel in LA for roughly 50 a night too, but it won't be pretty at all.

try browsing through these

Your biggest problem is going to be lodging. Other than Vegas, you just aren't going to find ANY hotels near a casino for $50 or less per night.

So you need to plan on spending about $80/night for lodging.

Then it's a matter of finding decent games and action. And for that, you can browse the link I gave you and hopefully some people will chime in.

Rumor has it that Florida has some really great 1/2nl, 1/3nl, and 2/5nl going on. I also know that Albuquerque NM is actually a decent/cheap place to play some poker (though you will definitely need to rent a car) and I've heard good things about the Winstar in Oklahoma...

GL in your search

The biggest problem is going to find 10 2/5 games going on a regular basis. I don't know, but the only place in the Eastern US that would have that is maybe combining the Borgata in AC and the Philadelphia casinos (about 100 km from each other). It certainly doesn't happen in Connecticut except weekend and holiday nights occasionally.

That leaves Las Vegas and the Los Angeles area as your two choices.

The San Jose Area has ten 2/5nl games going within a 45 minute driving radius daily.

three to five 2/5nl games at Bay101 per weekday +2 games Thursday - Saturday
three to five 2/5nl games at Matrix per weekday +2 games Thursday - Saturday
two to four 2/5nl games at Lucky Chances weekday +1 game Thursday - Saturday

Bay 101 and Matrix are next door to each other (more or less)
Lucky Chances is 45 minutes North

Each casino spreads a 5/10nl (or its equivalent 2/5nl deep stack $3k buy-in) everyday and Matrix spreads a 10/25nl no cap Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Lucky Chances and Bay101 both hold daily tournaments with $10k 1st place tournaments every Sat and Sun along with the occasional "big" $30k+ 1st place tournament once a month

Only downside to San Jose area is it's a very expensive place to live. Hotels in the San Jose area start off at $100 per day, and those are the shady "cheap" hotels. Decent hotels run you $150+ per day in the area.

I'm almost positive there are some Florida locations that have a few concentration of casinos within a 45 minute driving radius that would collectively yield 8+ 2/5nl tables...

Not necessarily. While not hotels, there are other locales where he could get a short-term condo rental for the same $1500/month via vrbo or similar site.
