You'd love it now. Many people with a ton of money to pee away. Catch the fever now before oil goes back in the toilet and everyone is bankrupt.

I think a more relevant questions would be what are the average stack sizes and the min buyin, this way you can extract your edge in the game vs players who are playing deep.
Yes, it does matter. Sure you aren't at a disadvantage buying short but if a player thinks they have an edge maybe they want to know what the standard buyin is to have more of the table covered.

Ocean's 11 in San Diego has a 5/5 PLO that usually gets going Wed-Sunday. Usually early-afternoon and evening.

Dunno. I think somewhat sporadically, but they said they had a PLO8 game run the other night for about 3 or 4 hours, and that it had filled up. I'll let you know about the rake when I play it.

Re: Live PLO Games: Master List

I would say the average player buys in for $500 or $1000 at the Wynn, though a few of us sit down with a bit more.

Riverwind, Norman OK:
1/2 PLO (100 min, 500 max), most Friday and Saturday nites, if the 2/5 gets going it usually means no 1/2.

Occasionally, there is a 5/10/25 PLO game (it ran last Sunday, for instance, but I'm not sure who organizes it).

Jeff, do live in Vegas or St. Louis?
Just moved to Vegas from St. Louis.

Stopped there about a month ago. Wound up playing a $15/$30 limit Omaha high/O8 mixed game. A bunch of guys wanted to add PLO to the mix, but it didn't take.

That was the first time I played limit straight high live in my life; I think it's a pretty miserable game, at least full ring.

Re: Live PLO Games: Master List

Hammond, IN (Chicago)
Horseshoe Hammond
Poker Room: 219-473-6065
5-10 or 5-10-20 PLO, FRI/SAT (no max)
2-5 PLO all week, maybe multiple tables on weekends. (500 max)
Some PLO/NLHE mixed games have run in the Big Room (50-100+)

Beautiful poker room, rivals Bellagio/Venetian/Wynn. 34 total tables + 2 Poker Tek tables, high limit floor with 8 tables of 5-10+ games and a glassed room resembling Bobby's Room at the Bellagio. On the weekends the 1-2 and 2-5 NLHE tables are getting waiting lists hours long and this has encouraged NL players to play in the PLO games while waiting for NLHE.

I think PLO live will increase in the future. There are many more people playing PLO online than in the past and this should create players interested in playing live. I think it is a natural transgression from NLHE to PLO...NLHE can be a boring game when everyone at the table plays well. PLO is never boring...many more action hands. The online big games are mostly PLO these days and this also should generate more interest in the game.
