Live PLO Games: Master List

Thought I'd try to organize a list of all live regularly-scheduled PLO games. I'll start the list.

St. Louis, MO
Harrah's Maryland Heights
$5/$10 PLO, Monday/Saturday, maybe Sunday
$1/$2 PLO with $5 bring-in ($500-max), Tuesday thru Friday, sometimes Sunday

Lumiere Place
$1/$2 PLO with $5 bring-in ($500-max), Saturday

Las Vegas, NV

Wynn Las Vegas
$2/$5 PLO, sporadic at this point but almost daily
$2/$5 PLO/PLO8? Wednesdays?

Anywhere else? Chicago, AC, etc., and anywhere in Iowa, Indiana, Mississippi, or Oklahoma?

Re: Live PLO Games: Master List

Horseshoe Hammond outside of Chicago gets $2/5 PLO going regularly. Occasionally $.5/1 PLO at the pokertek tables.

Jeff, I hear a lot these days about how PLO is gaining momentum. Do you really think so? It doesn't seem to have a lot of low limit online play, or spread in casinos that much. Hype or truth?

Truth. A year ago, we had a struggling $5/$10 (previously $5/$5) PLO game twice a week and an on/off once-a-week small game in St. Louis; when I left a month ago, we had two full tables of $5/$10 PLO twice a week, and a $1/$2 PLO $5 bring-in ($500-max) game every other day. And apparently they started another small game across town at another casino within the past couple of weeks or so.

Meanwhile, we now have a regular $2/$5 game in Las Vegas where previously it was rarely spread outside of tournament time. It is still a bit sporadic, but we are getting there. I hope eventually to get a smaller game going somewhere, as I believe the small games are the key to growing the game.

But we are getting there.

Re: Live PLO Games: Master List

I have yet to play in this game, but I have confirmed that they have a regularly running $5/5 PL H/O/O8 at Prairie Meadows in Des Moines, IA.

Thursdays starting at 11:00 am. $500 min buy-in, no max.

Casino Aztar in Evansville, In. Regular PLO games on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. I haven't played or sweated the game so I have no info regarding blinds, etc. I am semi-confident itis a raked pot game and not a time rake game.

Bally's in AC had a lively 1/3 PLO game going today. Should be (hopefully) going tomorrow as well. And certainly on Sunday. Time will tell if it becomes a permanent fixture there.

does it matter? If you want to buy in short you have a huge advantage over someone who is deep stacked (the games are uncapped) because when you in a hand vs this opponent his effective stack size is now brought down to the same stack size that you have. I think a more relevant questions would be what are the average stack sizes and the min buyin, this way you can extract your edge in the game vs players who are playing deep.

Well, the PLO/PLO8 mix is going every Wednesday @ the Wynn at 9pm. I have no idea what the min. buy-in is, but noone bought in for less than $500 and a couple buy in deep ($6k+).

And if you really want this to stick (the Wynn game), it'd behoove you guys to, you know, show up.
