Imagine a situation against me (or anybody else for that matter) and you would be involved deep in a hand and i just pushed all my chips in the middle and you are thinking about the right decision, calling or folding. And I would not talk to you, just stare on my phone and play a piece from this song:

Unfortunately in the casino I play in, cell phones are not allowed (even between hands), but apart from the funny part that I like, do you think it WERE fair and do you think it would be like talking to my opponent? I normally advocate not talking at all once I am all-in. I just stare onto one of the community cards and don't say a word.

1. I do not carry on conversations to gather information
2. If my opponent, on his own, started to play that song, or any other, I would consider his a gigantic jerk.
3. I would consider it the same as him speaking/singing himself.
4. I would try to figure out what level he is thinking on and use that as part of my decision process.
5. After the hand, give him the name of a good proctologist to help recover his cell phone.

I didn't click on the link(nor do I need to). My decisions aren't based on things like that(was it a song of some sort?). How he played/reacted to prior hands is a key part in helping me play future spots with him. Besides, if someone went all in against me, I'm not expecting him to talk to me or look me in the eye...he owes me nothing of the sort, and vice versa. I'm not saying he should start playing a song out of the blue but I'm not that easily extracted, so, w/e.

Angus thought of him to be a jerk. Meh, I see so many jerks all the time that it doesn't even phase me anymore. The only thing I might be saying to myself is: "I wonder if he's 21."

I would politely ask if it was the soundtrack to douche bag.

I really need to mark this conversation for the next time the "no headphones at the table" argument comes up. They're good to have when you need them.

1) Playing the song etc. is less than 'nice' manners .. I prefer nice entertaining setting.

same as offending players in chat.. the short term marginal gain will (IMHO) turn to significant long term loss.

If you did it to me .. best case.. I ignore.. worse case.. you drew first blood so lets dance..

This is the same as singing while your opponent is trying to think.
I would try to make my decision without regard to the music.
If necessary, dealer or floor would tell you to turn it off.
I would also put you down as an immature, inexperienced poker player with a juvenile sense of humor, poor manners, and worse taste in music.

Playing this tune while someone is tanking just makes you come off as jerk.

Playing it after then hand, when someone did a really bad call (and you obviously slowrolled the nuts). Now that's elite trolling.

I would factor it into my decision just like any other stupid antic at the table.

Spoiler:
There are certain people—not me, mind you, but certain people—who don't take well to this kind of thing.

Again, not me personally. I'm okay. But you never know who's at the table with you. Maybe it's not even the guy tanking you need to worry about. Maybe it's the guy next to him, or the dealer, or a passing waitress or floorman.

Whomever it happens to be, someone out there is going to want to strangle you over this. I'm not talking about a fun, playful strangling like that time you and your girlfriend were feeling a little frisky. I mean luring you to a dark place and cutting off your oxygen until you are dead. No safe words, no nothing.

Like I said, not me. I wouldn't do that kind of thing. But if we're being honest, if I were there to see and hear you do this, I don't think I'd lift a finger to help you from the kind of person who might strangle you for it.

thebigheizung, you are obviously a huge attention lover, so I would just sit and wait until somebody request "time" and when count down reach 5 sec left I fold (unless holding the nuts where I call). This would get everyone's attention to you and some of the players may want to bust you so bad.

I then have some of the table dynamics defined and it would help me in my game plan.

Is it unethical? No. Is he an idiot? Yes. The song is about hooking up with a chick, so it is kinda awkward. When I have the joint, I would probably find Call me Maybe on spotify and slowroll the **** out of him.

I treat it the same as when someone goes through his thought process out loud while looking at me for some sort of tell.

I stare at a spot on the table and tune them out. I have 2 kids who repeatedly call for me "Daddy, dad, daddy... dad.... dad". I've gotten really good at tuning out noise.

I would also speak to the floor to see if the poker room condones that type of stupidity and make future decisions as to where I play based on the answer.

On the other hand, if some guy were tanking for a couple of minutes over a $20 bet into a $200 pot on the River, I wouldn't mind someone playing the "Final Jeopardy tune".

How about if I just hum it myself? Not the whole tune, mind you, just a few bars.
