High stakes games in Vegas other than Bellagio

Greetings. I am high stakes blackjack player that is getting into poker. I go to Vegas about 10 times a year but have yet to play poker at a casino, other than special invite no-fee tournaments. I often stay at Bellagio and understand they have the best high stakes poker. My next trip I am staying at Venetian, and in any event I like to move around among casinos when gambling.

I would like to spend some time playing poker. I'd probably look for a 300-600game, Omaha preferred. Where's a good place to go? Is there a listing of poker tables/games for Vegas somewhere on the web? I'd like to have a full list handy so I can go from casino to casino without worrying about whether the game is happening. I have sufficient credit lines at all major casinos on the Strip, so that is not an issue.

Sorry bud, Bellagio is your only place for nosebleed limit such as the one you're referring to. Doubt you'll get straight Omaha but ya never know. WYNN will have some of the higher No limit games and all are uncapped, but that's pretty much it.

BTW, that site lists Bellagio, Wynn, and Venetian as running 300/600 Hold 'em "occasionally".

Re: High stakes games in Vegas other than Bellagio

it depends on when you'll be coming here. right now, i don't know if there are enough players around to give you the kind of action you're looking for. however, during big tournaments there are often $300-$600 mixed games that run.

if you're interested in no-limit holdem, you might be able to find a rather large game right where you'll be staying, at the venetian, where gabe thaler hosts a weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) $50-$100 blinds/$200-button-ante game with a $20-40k (it changes) minimum buy-in, no max of course. again, i don't know if most of the players in that game are currently in town.

the last couple weeks there's been a $200-$400 no-limit deuce-to-seven single-draw game going pretty regularly at the bellagio. that's a crazy/fun game if you're interested.

for games of the stakes you're looking for, there will be no such handy list. your best option would be to just call up the poker room and ask what high limit games are going. or, once you've played a session, exchange phone numbers with a fellow player who's a regular and he could inform you when a game gets off the ground.

in general, during non-tournament times, 10-20 and 25-50 nlhe, and 100-200 lhe at the bellagio are the biggest regular games in vegas, with gabe's venetian game as a semi-regular alternative.

hope this helped, feel free to contact me via private message for any further info.

I don't wish to imply that you're a fish but from my experence when unkown players come to town and want to play a game thats high all they have to do is start an intrest list and players will flock to it. It sounds like you're the type of player that would have a good relationship with the casinos so they should at least accomidate you for that.

It is an interesting thought. I may be a fish, not really sure. I've won almost 8 figures gambling in the last 10 years, and unlike most poker players that's a win, but I haven't played much poker. Will I always know the odds precisely? Yes. Can I read people? Not sure. I imagine if I was at a table of poker pros I'd be a fish. But maybe there are wealthy amateurs who play the high stakes games -- I really don't know. To be honest, mostly I want to play for fun. There are better gambling opportunities, for me at least, than poker.

You've won or profitted? I could easily count every bet I "won" over the past 10 years and probably be close to 6 figures. Once I factor in the losing bets, I wayyyyy behind, lol.

I want more information about the Bellagio 25/50 NL, the Bellagio 100/200 NL game and the Gabe Thaler's game at the Venetian (sometimes 50/100 NL sometimes 100/200 NL).

From a negative expectation game like Blackjack? I'm having trouble understanding this. Either you are experiencing a wonderful long stretch of positive variance, or casinos want your business so badly they are willing to offer you BJ where you have a positive edge. I.e. I can imagine you having a positive edge by counting cards with the right setup (no autoshuffler, single or double decks), but I can't imagine casinos letting you rape them for 10 years without changing the rules until you can no longer count or win.

there's no regular 100-200 nl at bellagio, there is 100-200 limit.

on the wknds there is 25-50 nl at bellagio almost always.

the venetian game is a little trickier. it's kind of a "private" game...but if a seat opens up no one can really prevent you from sitting. it's usually 50-100 with the button putting up a dead 200.
