Have not played there in a while but it is probably the worst room I have ever played in. It's located in the middle of an ugly, smokey riverboat and there were only 6 tables. I got the impression that if people from BR want to play poker they just drive to New Orleans.
I've played there a few times. The only games they spread are 4-8 limit and 2-5 nl. The 4-8 limit game is your typical no fold em hold em. The 2-5 game can be pretty profitable. A lot of locals play in it and if they have a draw after the flop, you will not be able to bet enough to get them off it. You can either have a great night b/c they will call $100 with $80 in the pot just to see the river to see if their draw made it.
I played there about 2 weeks after I posted above and I stand by that post. They only had 1 shorthanded 2/5 game going which is pathetic for a city the size of BR. Go to NOLA or Lake Charles.
Thanks, unfortunately, I do have to go to Baton Rouge, probably won't bother bringing any poker cash if there is no game. I don't mind playing shorthanded, but shorthanded live games tend to be fragile...so I'm just not going to expect anything.

I'm currently in Alexandria and have been playing at Paragon a ton.
1/2 action is really all that's been spreading during the week. I think they get a 2-5 during weekends. 1/2 action is like free money though. I bought in for 200 ran it up to 1800 ezpz. (Obv had some big hands but they never fold!)
lol yea my buddy has been killing hte 1/2 at Belle. Made like 1200 other night and 800 session before.
He also ran into a situation last night at Hollywood when evidently a known cheater was holding on to cards and basically playing with 3 card hands until friend's roommate busted him. Cops called/security/gaming commission etc. I'll probably make separate thread about this tho
Yes, this is confirmed. He got the banstick. I believe his name was Jamal. He actually threatened me two weeks before he got kicked out as well. I actually called the floor because he kept taking the cards from the table and holding them funny, and he tried to go south (Remove chips from play.) several times. The floor was some new guy and basically did nothing when he told me to F**** off because I was trying to keep the game fair.
