The Bellagio Bottom Five (dealers)

Let's kick this around for a while...

I spend more time @ Bellagio than ANY of you ****ers (some day, mostly swing+grave) so I am 100% qualified to start, judge, and rule over this thread. Ahem.

SOFAR my Bottom Five list contains:

***** (Day)
BUDDY. EITHER SHAVE THE MUSTACHE OR PENCIL THAT ****ER ALL THE WAY IN.

Offenses: Rude, Argumentative, Mistake-maker, Slow
Mitigating characteristics: NONE.

***** (Swing, Grave)
***** , it's time to R-E-T-I-R-E. You're more than 2x the age of your immediate boss. Pack it in gramps.

Offenses: SLOW, Confused, Mistake-maker
Mitigating characteristics: He's a nice old guy who makes you feel kinda bad for yelling at him.

***** (Swing)
Just generally clueless and slow.

Offenses: SLOW, Confused, Mistake-maker
Mitigating characteristics: Um... He's probably got no shot at any other job in any other industry so I'd feel bad if he got fired?

***** (Swing)
******** with the ugly hairdo. Pugnacious to the EXTREME.

Offenses: Above all else, she CANNOT let you have the last word in ANYTHING. She's not a horrible dealer, but she's an irritating person.

Mitigating characteristics: ZILCH.

***** (Tournament only, Swing)
Dude, how does this guy keep coming back every year? He's the WORST dealer I've ever seen in my life.

Offenses: SLOW, Confused, Mistake-maker (every hand)
Mitigating characteristics: A nice guy, but seriously who the **** does the hiring? Someone can open AA and someone can open AK on a board of 23349r and if you tell him chop the pot, 100% he'll start chopping. I'm serious. Try it out.

BONUS SECTION: The Bellagio Top Five

Jo (Swing/Grave)
Without a doubt, he's the TOP DOG. Best poker dealer *anywhere*.

Larry (Swing/Grave)
Good guy, fast, never makes a mistake

David (Grave)
Young dude, heavy-set, plays (probably too big) when he's got the money. Knows how to play all the games so he deals them well

Moon (Tournament Grave / Regular shifts @ Venetian)
She's cute. And she deals good! That's all I got.

Jill (Swing)
She knows what's up.

There are many other really good dealers too. Feel free to add to this list.

Re: The Bellagio Bottom Five (dealers)

this thread has been reopened with the names of the offending dealers removed. The OP or any other poster in this forum are free to discuss specific dealers with the management, if the management does not provide a solution within a reasonable amount of time then posting about the management's inability to solve dealer issues with the specific dealer is fair game.

note to handofgod - was that Phil lack playing 10/20NL?

Re: The Bellagio Bottom Five (dealers)

As a dealer, I would NEVER mention a players real name in any derogitory context on a public forum.

What good does it do? Do you think the poker room managment will take action now?

Do you think Bobby Baldwin read that thread and called the poker room and demanded action immediately?

As stated above, the matter is more porperly addressed through management of the poker room.

Must be your first rodeo. You'd be the only person on this site that doesn't name name's.
Kind of ironic...this site endlessly blasts away at players, and the first time the tables are turned a dealer get's offended. And the MOD's take the names out....Is this the new policy of 2+2, no names can be mentioned? If so, you got a lot of editing to do.

"I edited out the one name I missed."

You still have one name listed in the "bad" area (as I type this, anyway).

The name was used twice (so might be how you missed it) . It's right before... "it's time to R-E-T-I-R-E. You're more than 2x the age of your immediate boss. Pack it in gramps."

All the best,

Howard

Re: The Bellagio Bottom Five (dealers)

Dealers are employees, they are serving the players. Players are taking risk and gambling vs other players and in doing so are fair game. The exception is when a dealer is disclosing personal information about a player, if the info is general in nature then its fair game. An example of what is not cool is what Linda posted on her blog about big-game player tipping habits, it was petty and unwarranted, plus it places MGM Mirage in an uncomfortable position when the dealers cannot be trusted (since the dealer is serving the players as previously mentioned).

This really isnt new policy, but I did check with Mat Sklansky before a final decision was made how to proceed, hopefully we found a good middle ground.

Cool, I understand.
I have friends in this thread that are unfairly slammed by dealers. IMO, it's the same thing. But I guess your in charge....peace.

Well, KurtSF, I never posted to that thread so what's your point?

I could make the argument that the most of the people listed on that thread are public figures. They have appeared in multiple TV shows that they had to sign a release for and they had been paid to appear in. Legally, anything I COULD have said abut those people would have to be disputed by them.

The burden of proof that I might have said something false or slanderous shifts to the celebrity.

But I never mentioned anyone's name and I did not post to that thread. I'm not even sure that the person who started that thread is a dealer, are you?

And even then, the list was compiled by another source, PRR, and the thread referred to it, it didn't jump out and attack people who are not public figures.

The list posted in the other thread wasn't compiled by the poster, it was created by another source, PRR. They compilied the list, they made it public.

A poster who may or may not be a dealer merely mentioned the list, he referenced it, he did not produce it.

My point is that the fact that YOU never bad mouthed a player is anecdotal evidence and meaningless. According to the thread the results were compiled by PRR "according to a poll taken by the Bellagio dealers themselves." So, clearly, dealers do bad mouth players publicly.

Everyone mentioned is a pro... they are at work too. It all happens in public. I guess I don't see what is different about the dealers.
