Recreational hours. 6pm-11pm weeknights, 8pm-4am weekends. That is when people are out "to have a good time" and there will be the lowest ratio of regs/fish at the tables.

Which one?

Closest two cardrooms are about 15 minutes, another four are 20 minutes away, three big Indian casinos 45 to 60 minutes away, and another dozen casinos/cardrooms about 2 hours away in Reno/South Lake Tahoe and the Bay area.

Lots of choices in the Sacramento area.

I drive 60 miles both ways, three to four days a week. As long as I have like five hours at the table I can justify it.

55 minutes to Mohegan, 1 hour 10 minutes to Foxwoods. It sucks. I work a regular 9-6 and only get to make it out twice or 3 times a week. If it was 20 minutes away, I'd be there every day.

Re: Attention Grinders: How far is your daily commute to your Casino?

Right now, it takes about 50 minutes to get to the casino. It is a tilting drive where I hit a lot of stop lights. But when they cut the bypass through, it will be about 30 minutes, all interstate. That will be so nice.

But I am just a weekend warrior. I have contemplated getting a hotel room Fri. and Sat. night. The poker room rate is $55 a night, which is not to bad.

Edit: I could have moved to a town about 15 minutes from the casino. But that would make my drive to work at least 45 minutes with the chance of it being much longer due to traffic. My drive to work right now is 15 minutes, never any traffic.

Same for me, same casinos too.

Driving 1hr+ up and back is such a pain. Especially back.

Guess I have it good. I'm < 2 miles from Hollywood Park, where I play the most.

When I can I'll probably move closer to Commerce/Bike, and hopefully only 15 mins away.

Re: Attention Grinders: How far is your daily commute to your Casino?

Living in Mesquite, NV I have a 3-4 minute drive to the only local poker room and a 75 mile drive to Vegas. I'd say I have it pretty nice here, never having to drive too far to find a good game.

If youre commuting from dallas, buy a nice radar detector so you can go 90 on the way back at 3am when the roads are desolate.
