In before lock. Believe it or not, it is only in the last few years that poker players got any comps. There are local rooms near me that can't afford to give players comps even today. You should understand that the granny playing penny slots is a far more valuable customer to a casino than a poker player.
My only question to the management would be, "why bother?"
Assuming that the OP got the info correctly. I have no doubt that he believes it but is his source a good one?
Several people have told me things about the room I work in that I know are incorrect but because they heard them from someone in a suit, they believe it.
Stand in a prominent place in the poker room and chop up your card w/ scissors leaving the pieces on the floor. Get a new one next day and do the same. That'd be my move.
