Depends on a few things. Firstly, the type of game you're playing in, if it's a very fast variant the lack of inhibition may help you. Especially if you're naturally too nitty/tight.
Secondly, how solid your game is in general, as it were (I'm not suggesting we have a 'rote' we bring to the table and just plug it in and off we go). But if you understand certain patterns and plays really well then they could hold up even under the harm that alcohol is doing to your mental faculties.
Thirdly, how personal the game is, for want of a better word. Big difference between heads-up and full-table deepstack tournies. For me, all the 'other guy' stuff, reads, carefully putting on hands, understanding of who he is, that all seems to get quite messed up after about 3 beers. I mean European beers, not that shandy stuff you get in America
I always find it kind of uncanny just how badly booze and poker go together. You feel fine and reasonably cogent, it gives you a fearlessness and aggression that most games tend to love (with qualification). But it seems to cut right to the heart of what makes good poker playing good and just screw it all up. Almost the perfect drug for bankroll busting.
