Lets say you just broke up with a 36 y.o. girlfriend, with whom you were in a very serious relationship, because she wanted kids and you did not.

Now lets say she starts dating and soon, develops a very serious relationship with one of the first guys she starts dating

of course; this could happen naturally, but we are somehow able to know for certain that the acceleration of her relationship is due to her ticking biological clock and the feeling that she needs to find someone soon to have kids

is there a word for this in psychology? that they fall faster because in their mind they feel they NEED to?

ok maybe a bad example;

im looking for the word for the more general case

say for example someone is starving, and they see a pile of dog poop. now they eat it, due to their current condition, where they otherwise would certainly not. They arent forced to eat it but choose to.

is there a word from psychology that applies here?

Maybe all these scenarios are under your perception for what you think its happening and for the 1st scenario she finally found a man who cover her needs and want to move on with him and for the 2nd scenario he just tried that dog poop and liked it. In other words both scenarios are needs and in sociology the needs split in a pyramid from the most important to survive (eat) to the less important (have a kid with someone who does not have to login @ pokerstars as a priority) .

I think she felt she needs to have a family. She's lucky to find a new one who is ready to accept her and start building a family. Even it's just a psychological decision its a good decision and I'm happy for her.
