Not sure this is the correct section so if not mods please move

How do you control tilt? Ended up just loosing my bankroll (well 75%) of it. Three times in a row I got rivered and busted out of MTTs so for some reason sat and play $30 HUSNG. I know it was a really daft thing to do and don't know why I did. Feel like a **** know

Buy a program called tilt breaker and set rules for yourself. Also you can ask Stars to limit you by stake and then you have to email them again to unblock you. Doing these things will make it harder for you anyways. At the end of the day ask yourself why you are playing: if you want a quick gamble that's fine, but it's not correct if your end goal is to move up over time and make a real go at poker.

got rivered (5 times) out of my bankroll today. Nothing wrong really i lose about 50% of races, the problem is that i get much less money in the ones i win than the money i lose i the races i lose

If I were using CBT in this situation, I'd ask you to take a piece of paper, an excel spreadsheet, or whatever poker software you use and make a list of how much you win and lose when the money goes in before the river.

This will give you some objective evidence to either challenge your belief about win v lose pot size, or if you are correct that the pots are bigger, examine what is the cause of this leak so you can seek to address it.

Ultimately certain people are more prone to tilt than others. If you are someone who frequently tilts when you lose a single buyin or couple of buyins, you need to be extremely cognitive of this and aware that you are inherently at a disadvantage.

I have personally been playing poker seriously for 9 years and have just recently started to reel myself in and accept the swings. Ultimately if the amount of money you are playing for is affecting your decisions you are almost certainly playing bigger than you should be. Poker is basically a mathematical puzzle that needs to be solved empirically and objectively. The more emotion that you involve in your game, the worse your winrate will be.
