Small/easy tips you've picked up for avoiding tilt.

OK I'll start

- sing along to songs you're listening to while grinding. I find it increases mindfulness (you're more aware of what you're doing) + it's fun. When you stop singing it's a pretty noticeable sign you;re mad.

- divert your eyes away from the screen every now and then, take 5 seconds to stretch and zone out of poker. These mini-breaks stop tilt building up.

- focus on timebanking every street in a 3bet pot, including pre. Force yourself to do this for 1 week and it becomes an ingrained habit.

- take breaks. Pretty obv but nothing has helped me as much as this.

Don't drink while playing. Works for me. Also, if poker is the most stressful thing in your life then I believe you'll have a harder time dealing with tilt compared to someone who is more experienced with stressful situations.

This. Having legit graph to prove yourself that you are winner helps greatly. It takes focus off especially from short term variance.

Re: Small/easy tips you've picked up for avoiding tilt.

-When you get sucked out on REALLY bad in an all-in type situation after someone makes a GENUINELY stupid series of plays, say, "God, I wish this dude would play a hand like this against me again. Nine out of Ten times, I am going to stack him/he had a 4% chance of hitting that two outer on the river (Donkey cracks Aces after calling down to river and hitting two pair after flopping a pair of twos).

-When you start to actually feel physically really bad as a result of tilt, leave immediately. When I am card dead and there is a human ATM going all in pre-flop over and over and I keep getting junk for an hour straight, I literally get nauseous. This is for avoiding increased stack spewing, homicidal tilt.

-If do feel really bad, go to the play money room and fold all your good hands preflop and go all in with Ax and any two cards that total 9-11 in blackjack. If somebody complains when you suck out say "you always double down on 9-11, I cannot help it that I hit blackjack." Or "Since I am holding an ace, I figured a face card would appear and give me blackjack."

Re: Small/easy tips you've picked up for avoiding tilt.

After I lost a big pot, or if I did something really stupid, I jump in the middle of my room and make 15 push-ups.

This sounds ridiculous for a lot of you guys, but it really helps me to prevent me from steaming.

It´s also a good workout, if you make a couple push-ups during a session.
