Results Oriented

I have been playing IRL for the majority of my income and recently I have been playing more and more online poker. IRL I am no where near being results oriented, but online I have a huge problem with it. IRL I don't track my results because I'm too lazy to do it. However online you get to see your account balance as well as seeing all your results in programs such has HM or PT.

When I play online I don't stick with any specific game. I just go from different game type to game type depending if my last session was a winning or losing session. So obviously I'm not getting any volume anywhere just to see what game I enjoy and beat the most.

All I see is the numbers. How do you get past this?

Re: Results Oriented

It's pretty much all about accepting the fact that...at times...you're going to lose money. At the end of the day, as a poker player, it's an inevitability. You can't always win. Poker isn't about winning dollar after dollar...it's about winning $100 and losing $99.

It's a lot easier said than done but you need to concentrate on the actions you take in each hand rather than the consequence.

I suggest picking up a copy of 'The mental game of poker'. Helped me no end
