Hey guys,

Wanna share my story, to have some opinions, for the past 6months I've played lots of poker, but last month was kinda like a burnout for me, didn't feel like playing, didn't have goals and stuff, and my brother started playing WoW, I've joined him, and taking break from poker, but seems i'm having some of distress of it, like i'm wasting time playing WoW, I could instead make money on poker, but when I sit down on table, I feel I don't want to play, but as I soon I stop, the feeling comes back, like i'm not improving, just spending time on game without some income, what do you think about this situation ? How should I handle it ? ;/

Get better at poker.

If you're bored by the game then there are a few things you can do.

1) Play more aggressively
2) Play higher stakes
3) Play other games besides Hold em

There's probably more, but all of them will cost you money if you're not prepared. You should spend a lot more time on your game AWAY from the table. Read more here, read more books, learn as much as you can. Odds are you'll pick up one or two or three pieces of information or ideas that you can bring to the next session. As you're studying, you'll probably find yourself chomping at the bit to get at a poker table. And when you do, if you're able to apply something you've learned, with success, then I will bet your interest in the game returns.

What else is going on in your life. Losing interest in your hobbies is usually a sign of depression. Maybe your problem isn't really poker related.

Not a lot to add to that good post from Spex.

You could always play a MMORPG that pays
Poker for sure has a lot less variety than WoW and the like..poker's fault maybe. I specialize in Holdem and I play it much much better than any variant, but I can overcome the boredom with OH8 and lowball, both of which I love.
I like to watch videos of big tournaments and high-stakes cash games, and this always builds the urge to get back and play, especially if my heroes are playing.
My general poker game is better if I play computer games as well, they seem to wring out the tension from me and just leave me with clean focus. Tension, and boredom as well, both lead to unbalanced play, which can be bad, or for eg 6xSNGs, very bad.
