Both players are the complete opposite the bankroll nit is always playing over-rolled dropping in stakes just because a small downswing usually a total bumhunter obviously not all but most bankroll nits are bumhunters.

While the gambler is using total crazy bankroll mng always busting and rebuilding bankrolls understands bankroll mng but doesn't apply it.

Now before anyone says the gambler is likely a fish thinking player and mental game fish take isildur for example who is a great player and ofc many will not agree with this but he is and here's a couple of examples why he is a top player.

Isildur was totally crushing no limit heads up overbetting river others followed his overbets. Anytime he chooses to play a new game variant he is very quick to learn the game, for example mixed games within months he was crushing those games as sauce123 mentioned on the podcast and other have also.

Obviously he just wants to gamble and play and not do the off table work like the others do before they catch up to him but this does not mean he is a fish when it comes to poker skill itself, just that he could not be effed doing the hard work of the table and just wants to gamble and play.

Obviously again some will say he is a fish for not putting in the hard work off the table and that is true, but this is not my point, my point is that he is definitely a skilled poker player who choose to gamble instead of make money and use bankroll mng, unlike the bankroll nits who are mainly focused on bankroll mng bumhunting to make money.

So my question is two people are introduced to poker and from the bat basically one is a total bankroll nit bumhunter who also could be making a lot more money moving up in stakes but doesn't especially when the games are good and even are currently still imo, while the other is the total opposite busting and rebuilding bankrolls, just amazing that they are so completely opposite.

Interested in how two minds can be so opposite to each other, it seem a instilled trait and do others think they can change their ways?

Depending on your level of risk tolerance, you can assume a high risk of ruin and play much higher than traditional bankroll management would allow. Also, if you spend all of your winnings, your potential probability of going broke approaches (1).
