This has been happening to me lately like a few months ago and even when i'm not playing live poker. It seems to be stress/anxiety related.

I seem to get really stressed out and feel like throwing up whenever i start a session or am at a table, atm i feel like poker is all that is going for me in my life and if i fk it up idk what else. Feel like there is absolutely no room for any mistakes... given my circumstance.

Have you been running badly? Do you play for a living?

There have been some world class athletes who have had this symptom before competition. Off the top of my head I'm only coming up with one - Bill Russell - but that's a pretty good one. Obviously it can just have to do with stress, pressure, enormous angst and nervousness over the competition ... including putting just too much stock in the outcome. I have read that adrenaline can cause nausea. It's far from unheard of but no easy answer to chemicals that rage within and have all manners of effects.

I suggest trying L-theanine. It's what's in green tea to cause a smooth focus and is good at relieving anxiety.
I'd suggest trying it out on a non poker day and see how it makes you feel first.

I got it for my wife because she has the same anxiety going to play but it smooths her out too much haha. It can make you a little too relaxed if you're sensitive to those types of things.

Hm thats interesting, you know what i'd rather have a stressful/nausea type feeling then the feeling of comfort ability/ease.

That's what my game/lifestyle has come to now being too comfortable and relaxed somewhat, that's why im bumping this thread. I'd rather have that stressful/nauseaous feeling again but in reality i need to find a balance in between. It's more so because i'm playing live, but i'm sure a lot of online players get mentally tired after a while tho not the feeling of throwing up lol.

The feeling of comfort ability/ease is sickening i'd rather have it out of my life ASAP, but part of my mind/life has grown so used to be stressful that it doesn't bother me anymore.

It's because your afraid of the possibility of loseing. You have uncertainty about the session ahead if you knew you were going to win you wouldn't be nervous but you don't know what's going to happen you may win or you may lose I bet when your up that feeling fades a lot after a big pot scoop. You have a confidence issue right now if you were confident in your long term potential you wouldn't sweat the short term sessions. I would look over all your last success in poker and remind your self that short term run bad isn't anything you can't handle.

I tried this stuff and it seemed to work (placebo) for a few days, but then stopped.

I think this explains it. I was on a long downswing over a year ago, and everytime I sat at my pc I started feeling anxious. Like clockwork, I'd suddenly need to use the bathroom, and delay playing by 30 minutes. Medidation helped, and understanding that these thoughts are just that, thoughts.

I try to see that feeling as "I'm doing something exciting". Years ago, I'd get the same thing before approaching groups of women. Eventually over time I started to enjoy that feeling because of the results I'd get in the end.
