Motivation problems...any advice?

Been playing poker for a while now, mainly online. I play recreationally and enjoy playing but i want to up my game and play more hours to help developn as a player and test my skill over larger ample sizes. Problem is, i have massive motivational issues. I love the game of poker, i love the analysis, the thought process involved, the skills that I've developed...but i simply can't seem to find the motivation to play long enough sessions.

Anyone got any advice on how to begin changing my attitude? I've read and began to apply tips from Jared's book but any other ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers guys.

I guess I am in the same boat. I bet there has been a lot of threads like this. Tough to be motivated all the time, especially in an unforgiving game such as poker.

Let me know if u ever find a cure

Ever abuse stimulants such as adderall or ritalin etc? Could be having dopamine issues? Could be many other things also, one being testosterone.

Edit: that new Onnit stuff is supposed to be a cure for this, but that kind of stuff isn't usually going to be the real solution for the issue your experiencing.

Start hitting the gym, raise your protein intake also as much as yoou can, but that starts to get expensive quick.

Great advice! Follow it ..

And for me, I dont play for fun .. I play only for money and if you are good, money will come with volume. More games, more money ... as simple as that. More money, more fun in life.

My back is hurting, had bad headakes sometimes and i am really bored, but as long as I stay focused i Play! Follow this rulle and you will be golden: No Pain, No Gain !!

And this might help too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHC3w...eature=related

Hit a gym everytime before session.

Im not sure about this, but _make_ yourself to play for at least 20 long sessions during a month to establish a habit and it will become easier to grind later.

It's funny how every time a thread like this pops up. "Work out" is always the most common answer.

Not that it's bad advice. I don't think it's the most efficient option, but probably the easiest to start.

Considering we are not doctors, I think its about the only answer we can give. Also, 99.99% of supplements are garbage and will destroy you in the long run.

What do you suggest is the most efficient answer?

Cheers for all the advice guys. I do go to the gym but i probably don't time my sessions right i.e. one day at the gym, one day playing poker. Might try and focus on that + maybe get a diet plan going

You can easily do both gym and poker almost 7 days a week. Just gotta do diff. parts of the body each day and after the gym get your poker in. But def gotta take a day or 2 off each week for recovery. Also don't forget like many dopes and get a ton of cardio in. Need endurance for those long runs.

If all fails, meth I hear works pretty good.
