The biggest difference usually between those who succeed and those who don't is learning from failure. Guys who don't give up when they feel like they're down and out, they keep trying, eventually through hard work they slowly get better and better.

Re: Letters from a Poker Madman

Also Mr Muck it's clear you have some emotional issues. You feel bad about things etc, so I would recommend studying, psychology, philosophy type things, bhuddism etc. You should try to figure out why your thoughts are making you feel bad. Given the fact is nothing is neither good or bad, it's purely how you perceive things, this means you control how you feel, you probably just don't know it. Certainly humans will react biologically in certain ways to certain external stimuli which sometimes can't be controlled, most of it is your thoughts and beliefs. Work on changing those to a more positive outlook.

I dont have the money needed to play live poker, if I follow strict bankroll management, so thats stopping me from playing live.

Re: Letters from a Poker Madman

You need to find some other things to do with yourself. Maybe work on finding a new perspective. You seem to be relating way too much of your self-worth to the amount of cash that you have.

Re: Letters from a Poker Madman

Starcross, you are not the first and I am sure not last person to tell me to "find some other things to do with myself", hobby? read a book?, walk?, Gym?, mediation? etc....I try these new things, but I dont care or I dont enjoy them, or I do them but when I do I feel like a robot. Its like I cant let myself go (whatever that means)

So how do you measure self-worth? What else is there but money?
