Realising that nothing really matters is incredibly liberating (once you get past the initial shock and consequent overadjustment).

Re: Inspirational Quotes

Poker is like being in love... Sometimes shes an angel... Beautiful in everyway... Other times you wonder if you could smother her with a pillow and get away with it.

Re: Inspirational Quotes

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Re: Inspirational Quotes

There are two types of people who enter a poker game thinking they can't lose: the ones who will, and the ones who won't because the session they are tracking is thousands of hours long.

Love it And this is why "the long game" is such a great concept - it never ends so you never have to worry about being down.

It depends a lot on the specific person, playing style, game type, etc. Someone adhering to an extremely strict BRM and nitty style might be making money but not having a lot of "fun" grinding for a living, whereas if they took shots or tried to play more creatively, their profit margins would suffer. Other people who are more risk-tolerant might be able to have fun/play a laggy style and be "doing it right".

Love this Jordan commericial:

I came across this quote today and thought it was worthy of this thread:

No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Yeah, you might be right, my standpoint is just that if you don't enjoy doing something, you won't be able to be really good at it.
