Inspirational Quotes

So I've just started up again after a burnout break and I suffered a shockingly bad session yesterday. I've had a steady day at work so I decided to write down a few phrases to print off and stick up on my wall. Pretty gay yes but whatever floats your boat and all that. Most of these I heard somewhere else and just rewrote. Would love to hear lots more, I want a wall full of the best ones.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One great session does not make you a great player. One terrible session does not make you a terrible player. Poker requires a long-term mindset and a mentality capable of keeping perspective during extraordinary times.

LAG-tards and fish get the same amount of good hands as sharks and nits.

Recognise the onset of TILT and step away from the tables. The games will always be there but you need your BANKROLL to play them.

Even great players suffer crushing defeats. It is the manner in which they respond to those losses that defines their greatness.

"Satisfaction? I don't think you ever get satisfaction because you are always worried about the next game and the next step. I have never thought that it has been a remarkable achievment because I am still doing it, still trying to push on."
Tony Pulis

The commonest mistake in history is underestimating your opponent; it happens at the poker table all the time. ~David Shoup

Poker's a day to learn and a lifetime to master. ~Robert Williamson III

Whether he likes it or not, a man’s character is stripped at the poker table; if the other players read him better than he does, he has only himself to blame. Unless he is both able and prepared to see himself as others do, flaws and all, he will be a loser in cards, as in life. ~Anthony Holden

You have it in your power to turn a bad-beat around simply by realizing this simple truth: The more bad beats you encounter, the luckier you are. It's a sign that you are playing against opponents who continually take the worst of it, and if you can't beat someone who always takes the worst of it, you can't beat anyone. ~Lou Krieger
Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents. ~Lou Krieger

Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.

-- Crandall Addington, Texas oil millionaire

When a man with money meets a man with experience, the man with experience leaves with money and the man with money leaves with experience.

Playing poker for a living gives you backbone. You cannot survive without that intangible quality we call heart.

-- Bobby Baldwin, 1978 WSOP winner (2001)

Once you start thinking you have nothing left to learn, you have everything to learn.

-- Steve Badget

The single greatest key to winning is knowing thy enemy — yourself.

-- Andy Glazer

Poker is the only game for a grown man. Then, your hand is against every man's, and evern man's hand is against yours. Teamwork? Who ever made a fortune by teamwork?

-- Somerset Maugham

Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.

-- Stu Ungar

It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside.

-- Stu Unger, Three-time WSOP Champion

A card player should learn that once the money is in the pot, it isn't his any longer.

-- Herbert Yardley (1957)

This is my favorite one it was by a poker player on this forum

"everybody will eventually run worse than they thought was possible. The difference between a winner and a loser is the latter thinks he doesn't deserve it".
