How powerful are your dreams? How powerful are your dreams?

I'm pretty sure literally everyone has once been woken up by their dreams. As in, you wake up in a sweat or just suddenly, kinda jumping up because of your dream.

What I'm more curious about is how powerful are people's dreams in average. Or like, how do you experience them. I for one feel like my dreams are very, very powerful, and that I experience them very strongly.

For example, I often have a lot of troubles telling the difference between my dreams and reality. Say I dreamt about something casual, normal, that could happen in real life. I dreamt about going to the store for example, just random stuff. It will be very hard for me to actually be able to tell if that really happened, or if I dreamt it. I don't know if that's common.

But more importantly, I feel like my dreams get to me more than the average. I wake up very often from my dreams, and I really do "feel" them. If I'm dreaming about having my freedom taken away and going to jail or something, the fear of that will stick around for easily 10-15 minutes after I wake up. That applies for every strong feeling that I experience in my dreams. They always stick around a while after I wake up.

To sum up, I really do think my dreams are very powerful, more powerful than the usual. Now I don't know what causes that, I'm sure there would be a few theories out there, but I'm just curious to find out how it is for other people in general.

The power of your dreams may have to do with the relationship between your conscious and unconscious mind.

I've had multiple dreams where I was 100% certain it was real. I event tried to do "dream checks" and stuff during the dream to check whether it was a dream and I didn't wake up. These are often dreams where everything that happens is physically possible and somewhat plausible. Not sure about my average dream, because I often forget them but I know i've had multiple dreams where even when I woke up I couldn't believe it was a dream as it felt so real.

Makes you think sometimes, that if you could control your dreams well, You could have any life you wanted in your dreams, and for longer time periods than in "reality", since dream time is accelerated.

When I was a kid I couldn't tell the difference between dreaming and being awake. I was sure I could fly too, because I could in my dreams. One day I've got my foot out the window on the second floor of our house and I'm wearing a blanket as a cape, plan was to fly to the 7-11 and steal pop and candies, right then my dad busts in yelling. I would have hated to be my dad, talk about being on your toes.

I actually had a really strange dream last night, ended up with earth being swallowed up by a black hole. The weird thing was though when I saw the black hole and obviously realised we were all going to die I was strangely calm. I woke up just as I was about to get sucked in, which really annoyed me actually lol because I wanted to know what I sub consciously thought would happen.

I am pretty sure if this happens often, you need meds for it. It's a form of psychosis or something (can't think of the term off the top of my head) These people usually end up doing pretty crazy things when off their meds (killing people and thinking it's a dream for example)

see a doctor.

I have dreams 5 of the last 7 nights with my former best friend anthony he passed away in 2005. I have also had dreams involving little green men. During these dreams I realize they are just dreams as the ones I have stated that my friend Anthony already died he disappears but if I don't state it I get to enjoy his company. I have gone with Anthony in real life to Mexico and back from connecticut in 4 days to smuggle steroids. I can't confirm dreams are real but at least for a brief moment I am connected with the best friend I have ever known.

I have also had many dreams with 5/12/12 being a key date in time. I have dreamed that on this date a nuclear weapon was set off causing a massive change in society. Please don't bother me if nothing occurs or better yet something massive occurs. I am just a man and have no impact in time all I can do is just tell what I dream.
