How to get back to where I was. How to get back to where I was.

Ok so two years ago I was making around 2-3k every week for 6 months. I would take bets online kinda in my own niche market with a 2 percent edge. Long story short I got big headed and thought the easy money would be available whenever I wanted which I have later found out to not be true. I have a few grand in the bank but I really just want to start with 100 bucks again and get back on the grind but everytime I get up 100-1000 bucks on top of my start cash I just get crushed which just kills my soul since I am doing everything right. What should I do to overcome these new feeling for the money?

Treat the money like it's not yours, or that it doesn't exist. Once you put in online or whatever, it's gone. If you profit, cool. If not, it doesn't matter because it's not real anyway. This is how I try and perceive my poker bankroll. Otherwise your mood fluctuates depending on whether you have a winning or losing day, which are both irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

I guess you are correct. For some reason I am having trouble doing that again. Any idea how i reprogram my thinking?

You're correct though, in the end it doesn't matter since I have the edge and that's that.

+1. This just sums it up a lot for what you need. Even the high stakes players occasionally think like that and would think if they busted out of a 250k buyin tournament 'I could have bought a house with that!'.

Major flaw of mine - I find my state of mind dictated by my bankroll. I know it's not healthy but I just have this niggling feeling when I'm running bad/on a downswing. Which has been happening quite a lot tbh.
