Help me avoid moving up

So, two days in a row now I have grinded all day for a nice profit at 25c/50c and 50c/1, then seen some bad players at 1/2 and figured "Will just see if I can win off them, if not then I'll leave". But I have lost all the profit in a few minutes.

I can't help but try to follow the bad player. Give me some wisdom that I can repeat to myself to stop me doing the same thing again tomorrow.

Just thinking "You might lose , how will you feel" doesn't deter me as I think "I might win, and then be able to cash out and pay for X Y Z that I'm waiting to pay for".

If you played good, no reason to get upset. Variance. Nothing you can do. Be sure it's truly variance and not bad play.

If the main issue is to adhere to bankroll management. Just read some posts on how crazy variance can really be. And how your winrate, sd, and sample size can affect your outcome. Simulations are nice.

Then tell yourself that you gotta stick to not risking your roll, because the risk of ruin even for good players is too high.

Most sites have player control where you can set limits on your stakes and it takes 24 hours or whatever before you can take the controls off. That works well I think.

Re: Help me avoid moving up

lol i just did this

try setting a 1 or 2 BI stop loss maybe?? don't see the problem with taking shots as long as you are rolled for your ''real stake.''

surely you don't wanna play 50 cent poker for the rest of your life!?!?
