Focusing issues

I used to be a 25 tabling SnG player. After learning that there really is no money in SnG I moved to cash games. I've eventually learned that it's best to play a few tables and really focus on the players. However, this is where I'm struggling. I'm just not quick/observant enough to concentrate on everyone 4/6 tabling. I've dropped down to 2 tables and I just can't focus on the "trivial actions" It's like I get bored, I've been trained to auto-pilot from my SnG days, which is when I learned poker.

Apparently I should have a good feel for the game when playing a few tables and be able to pick up on many small tells like betting size tells and what not, but I constantly overlook this. Advice anyone?

Maybe poker is not for you? That's what I figured out and I'm much happier now without it.

Re: Focusing issues

have you tried 1tabling while shutting all distractions (TV, people, internetbrowsing, music) out? I know 1tabling sounds painful, but give it a try, Just so you are not tempted to look anywhere else but your one table. Then try to follow every hand. Maybe try to pretend that you are making a video, and comment on every action (in your head). I know it sounds a little weird, but this 'pretending to do a video and having to explain all my own and everybody elses actions' actually helps me a lot.
if you got that working once, it should be easier to focus on 2 tables etc until you are up to your 6 tables or so.
