Been seriously studying and playing poker since about 2011.
at the start it was for the mental challenge that it gave me.
Then my goal was to use poker money to buy things I wouldn't usually spend money on (useless crap and take aways during the week etc).
Now married with 2 kids and a good paying job, my goal was to make enough money from poker to buy a nice all inclusive holiday away for the whole family, which I have achieved.
I noticed after my holidays that I don't care about poker anymore.
I don't have problems with money IRL.
When I am playing and I lose a coinflip or have a downswing I just don't give much s$%*.No tilt, just pure apathy towards the game. When i win I would just spend it on crap as well
Most session I unreg from all my pre-reged MTTs, and half way trough the session I switch my attention to watching movies and shove wide to lose fast because I am completely bored of the game and don't have a goal.
Is this burnout?
Or am I missing a goal?
Or both?
Reason I am looking for help is because I feel that if I leave the game, I would feel like I have wasted countless hours of study and training sessions.
I work 9-5 office job and dedicate on avg 23hrs to playing+ about 8hrs of poker material a week.
