Vyvanse is basically like dexedrine spanules. See the patent for Adderall XL is ending soon and Shire is really pushing Vyvanse on all the Adderall XL users.
Ive tried IR adderall and it was too intense for me...worked, but too much.
Vyvanse is weird it only breaks down in your stomach so it takes anywhere from 45 min to an hour to kick in.
I think Vyvanse is great. Not as focused as Adderall but still very useful. There are mixed reviews really. Some people need that L-amphetamine in Adderall that Vyvanse doesn't have.
I find Vyvanse to kick in within an hour and reach max effect around the 3-4 hour mark. Everyone is different so it may be different to you. Another point to mention is I take it for Narcolepsey not adhd. So it wears off around 2 or 3pm for me. I have heard elsewhere from other's online that this is a common occurence.
I would ask your doc about it. It comes in 20,30,40,50,60,70 mg doses. I was on 70mg to begin with but anxiety was too much. 50mg works great for me. I have taken drug holidays with the medicine but overall I think it works fine. I also take magnesium, fish oil, exercise, and eat well, so I think that helps with tolerance too.
I miss my Vyvanse. I went to doc today and for some reason insurance won't cover vyvanse anymore for me

Vyvanse without insurance is like $700 bucks US, so I can't afford it. Although there is an assistance program that pays for your medicine for a year from what I've been told.
I would try it, I loved the Vyvanse. It had the focus and energy of Adderall and smoother comedown and crash. I hope this helped and good luck with your treatment in the future.
