Leniency Second Account Misunderstanding Leniency Second Account Misunderstanding

I had the following email correspondence with Emily at globalpoker. I would like to know what people think about how they handled case. Obviously its outcome favors me so i am happy.

I do understand how serious multi-accounting is and how important it is for them to be able to make good judgement calls. I am assuming it helps a lot that i brought it to attention. no brainer for them?

Last email starts here:

I appreciate you confirming this second account. I am glad to hear you will allow me to continue playing and to withdrawal any winnings. Thanks.

Hello ******,

Thank you for contacting the Global Poker Customer Service Team.

We can confirm that you already have an account with us before and that has already been deactivated.

As one time courtesy, we will still allow you to play however, further creation of additional account will result to permanent deactivation of all your accounts together with all its winnings. This is clearly stated in our Terms of Use, item number 4: "Customers are only allowed to register one account with Global Poker. If discovered that multiple accounts have been registered by a customer, VGW reserves the right to terminate all such accounts at its discretion."

We will be monitoring your account from now on. We look forward for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Regards,
Emily

Hi I feel as though I may have made two accounts. I am not sure. I just remember I signed up and got the free No deposit $2 and lost it. That was like a month ago. Then just recently I tried to sign in using the email and password I know I would have used. I could not log in so I just created a new one. I then got the bonus and now deposited as well. This doesn’t seem right, can someone check on this. I do not want to break any rules.

It seems to me that given your situation as explained, and the fact that you brought it to their attention... once they verified your claim it was a good decision.

I think a key component is that there was no attempt to cheat in the games or defraud them on the promotional offer. This is far different from someone making many accounts, sometimes even daily, to get the $2 over and over again.

Where is the "misunderstanding"?

Cliffs Notes:

Dude made a couple of accounts..... won some money on second one and "confessed his sin" to GP. GP graciously gave offender a slap on the wrist. Now Dude can cash out his winnings.
